Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
I went by the new campus yesterday. The campus is still fenced in and looks "unfinished".
I'm not gonna lie, this worries me. Granted we're still 3 months out, but it still makes me uneasy. I am getting anxious thinking about the possibility of our first semester being complete and utter chaos at the new campus because there wasn't enough time to get everything situated before the start of the Fall semester. There was a current student a few pages back that said the professors hadn't even been to the new campus, nor did they know where their room was going to be, how things would be arranged, etc. Is this a concern for anyone else?
I think that if it is going to be an issue when the semester starts, we will remain at the South campus. I have heard that it will be ready for move in over the summer. I work with someone who is friends with a board member for the nursing department. She said the new nursing building is beautiful, which leads me to believe that some have actually been inside. I am just trying to remain positive. I've been so down the last few weeks.
I also have nutrition, that is my first degree.
If they only look at science gpa, I feel better. I just wish I had done better on the TEAS. I did well on science and math, and not so good on reading. Not sure what happened.
I started taking classes at the TR campus the first semester it was open. It was not "complete" but I will say there were no issues at all. They had everything done that needed to be done in all of the science labs, etc. The staff were all organized and knew where everything was and were helping to direct students to where they needed to be. You would be surprised at how quick things can come together. It may not be complete when TCC nursing opens there, but everything should be organized and well planned out. I was in a few classes at TR where the rooms had not been painted yet, etc....but they can do those types of things after hours. It doesn't have to all be done before we start classes there.
I did see the post about the staff. That does make me nervous. I really hope they get/have some great nursing instructors!!
I've been keeping up with the thread for a while now, I thought I would post finally.
Overall GPA: 3.67
Science GPA: 3.75
TEAS: 82% (i think? I don't have the sheet in front of me) 95th percentile
I'm so discouraged right now and the wait is hard on me too. I'm really thinking I won't get in. My scores are "good" but I think there are so many applicants and that my scores aren't good enough. *sigh*
Rahjah, your scores look pretty good. They are better than mine, so you certainly would get accepted before I would! In fact, most everyone here would get accepted before I would!!!
I'm going to go to the Trinity trails in a few hours and will check out the new building while I am down there. Has anyone seen anything with the parking? Is it still the same?
