Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

WOW! Was it B or JM by any chance? JM is usually very sweet but I've heard stories of B being very rude.. even if you are in the program..

I think we should wait until next week and then see about calling again.. I just don't get why it would be mid-may if they already made the critical decisions and picked who is in or not.. what else could take so long?

They could solve this issue easily. EVERY YEAR send the letters on a certain date. PERIOD. Students would know WHEN TO EXPECT IT. And the people at the schools don't have to deal with students calling every hour of every day in anticipation.

This is FRUSTRATING! I need to know so I will know if I need to try and get into a summer class. If the hold up is the orientation location, I say email us the info about orientation, and get on with letting us know our fate.

I think the issue is in fact the orientation location. The building isn't done, so they aren't sure what the room numbers will be. I agree though, Ab. They could at least send the letters.

Our Tarleton hopefuls on the WC thread said yesterday that they should get EMAIL notification on Monday.

Hey guys I was just wondering I was thinking about applying to TCC ... but I've heard they've changed their entrance exam to HESI instead of TEAS is that true ?

Yes it is true.

Also, they will only require that you have your 4 sciences and math complete before you apply only. The only things that count next app period is just the sciences, math, and HESI scores. Sure wish that was the case along time ago. I could have applied much sooner!!

Hey Pina, I too called yesterday and some rude person answered the phone. She raised her voice a little when I asked if she knew when applications were going to go out. She said that they haven't even made the selections yet and that applications will go out sometime in May. I'm not going to call anymore! Like Loly said, I'll just believe it when I see the envelope in my mailbox! I accepted a position for Cook Children's Hospital last week! My dream is to someday work for the hospital's NICU department. I am so excited to start!!! Is anyone else currently working for a hospital?

I have worked in a hospital for the past 9 years. I do not work in the nursing department though. I am hoping to make a career change, if I ever receive a letter.

I wonder why I was told that the decisions have been made.

I've tried numerous times to get a job at a hospital but was told that it's impossible without being in nursing school.. Even with my mom and stepdad with a foot in the door.. Oh well..

I'm so frustrated with tcc now!! I'm like y'all I'll believe it when I see it..

Specializes in Oncology.

All of this back and forth on the dates letters might/might not go out, the unorganization of their Nursing Department (or possibly just lack of communication), and the rude voices encountered when phone calls are being made is not leaving a very good taste in my mouth for TCC right now. I'm actually quite disheartened by all of this, and it's leaving me less than eager to receive a letter from them. I understand that they are probably stressed, just as much if not more than us, due to the chaos of moving to a new campus. But come on people! There is no need to continue to mislead us on when to expect our letters and furthermore there is definitely no need to become rude over the phone with us.
