I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
a lady did it for me! so its the least i can do=) if i hear anything i will post! THIS is where youll find out when letters are out! and it takes two to three days once people start getting them, i learned that the hard way, so dont freak out that something happened! according to these posts, it seems competitive tho! but have faith!

Good luck to everyone. I am currently in the program graduating in May. Like Lolo said most everyone semester for the past 4 that I know of have called all alternates to the program. Like most of you, people apply to more than one school and then pick the one they want the most. I am on the TNSA board so as soon as I know when New Student Orientation (formely Camp Success) is I will post here if letters have not gone out.

Another week behind us. I hope everyone has a great weekend and Spring Break. I have to work this week, but still plan to have some fun with my kiddos and husband.:)
Hi guys! Just googling tarrant county college nursing this afternoon and found TCC has 3 FT (posted 3-7-11) and 1 PT nursing instructor postions (from Nov. 2010) advertised on higheredjobs.com. When I spoke w/ the nursing office last fall, I was told the # of students selected each semester is based on a) funding for instructors and, of course, b) FILLING those positions. In Feb., a counselor mentioned that hopefully they could KEEP nursing insructors, as it is hard for universities to compete with private sector compensation. So, I wonder, are they trying to replace employees who've left for greener($) pastures? or fill more positions to accommodate a larger incoming class? Hope for the latter and wish them success in hiring quality instructors! The application deadline on the FT positions is 4-1. Appreciate the updates from everyone.
I have been passing time by reading books. I figure once I start nursing school I will only have time to read textbooks, so I am reading fun books now. I am also concentrating on getting back into shape. That has really helped me keep my mind occupied. Although, I do think about the letter we are all waiting for at least 2 or 3 times a day. It is a tough wait.
I posted this in the WC thread, but I know many of you are only applying to TCC and not both schools. I figured it was worthy of posting twice, and many of you will understand the anguish I felt last night.
Funny story... my Granddad unexpectedly sent me some stuff in the mail yesterday... in a BIG MANILLA ENVELOPE (you know... the kind I received last year with my Alternate letter from WC)! When I opened the mailbox last night, my heart literally stopped, and my stomach rose into my throat. I slowly pulled the envelope out of the mailbox, only to see that the return address was my Granddad's house, not Weatherford College.
I remember thinking when I saw it, "No way! That can't be my letter from WC. It's too soon. Oh My Gosh!! Is that my letter?!?!!! Pull it out of the mailbox you idiot!".
I had to call my Granddad and give him a hard time about it afterwards. Hopefully he won't be sending me anything else in big manilla envelopes until after I hear from WC and TCC.
Hello everyone! I just wanted to say I am also waiting on TCC I am also one of the 350 applicants ughhh... thats A LOT. I applied to four schools so I have been reading on a few other threads and utmb had over 1000 students apply... don't think I will be getting into that program!!
