Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
For those who are interested, I was browsing around www.tccd.edu/nursing, and I saw a link under Nursing Resources for "Purchase E-Books". I clicked on it out of curiosity, and it took me to Majors Books website. After some browsing I found this: http://www.majorsbooks.com/p-2157-tarrant-county-college-adn-so-1st-semester.aspx. It appears that we can order the same package from Majors Books that Elsevier offers through the campus bookstore (but we're being told won't be available until July) for $298.03 -- I also checked, and the package ISBN matches (9781455785728 found at the bottom of the Elsevier Quotation page). Also, Majors Books advertises free ground shipping for all orders over $175, so you wouldn't have to pay for shipping either. AND, the Littmann Classic SE II steth's are only $66.12, however they don't come with the free engraving (or any engraving at all that I can see). Anyway, I just wanted to share the info with you guys.
Thanks for the responses! I just think financial aid stuff never works for me! Lol oh well... Hopefully in 2 yrs it won't matter much...
I can't decide if I like the package deal or not because everyone I've talked to says NOT to get the skills book just the code. And it doesn't include everything.. So I'm a little hesistant about it..

Personally, the reason why I decided to purchase the packaged deal was because it was made available at a discounted price AND it came with the E-Books for FREE! And the packaged deal comes with all of the required textbooks except for the Fundamentals of Nursing, Conpcets, Process and Practice book, which I also purchased from Majors (not including the $8 APA Pocket Handbook, which I purchased from Amazon). I just don't want to get stuck ordering the wrong book, or purchasing one that doesn't come with the online component, etc. So, I'd rather play it safe and get it all in one package.

Yeah I filed on my own as an independent and no one claims me but according to FAFSA until I'm at the age of 25 my parents income makes me ineligable witch completely sucks because I do school and everything else completely on my own. Like on the FAFSA, after I type in my birthday, they ask for my parents tax stuff and say that I have to include it. My parents are divorced which means I can just put one income but it still doesn't work according to the government.. I guess I'll have to talk with the school.
