So, who here taking nursing classes this summer is ready for break? I know I am.
I can't wait until it's done next month! 15 weeks of material is crammed into 10 weeks in my program. That means clinicals 3 days a week plus 11 hour lectures on a fourth day. AND my clinical sites are 98 miles apart .... Google the distance between downtown San Diego and Riverside if you don't believe me. Thank goodness I only need to travel to both sites in one day only once a week (clinical in San Diego in the morning and then pick my patient for the next day later that night in Riverside... then drive home 40 miles to write up my careplan). And yes, I do live in-between the clinical sites so it's not my fault. The upside is that I get to see a lot of sunrises and sunsets with my clinical groupmates ... how romantic LOL :)
Last summer I did A&P1+lab (6 weeks) followed by A&P2+lab (6 weeks), both in parallel with chemistry+lab (12 weeks). The advisor thought that was a bit ambitious, but it went OK, though I'm still burnt out from it. :)
Microbiology+lab along with statistics and human growth & dev. in a full 16 week semester last fall was like a vacation in comparison.
I'm technically not taking ANY classes this summer but I might as well be. I had 800 NCLEX Questions to complete, 13 Case Studies at 28 Questions (so that's another 364 Questions) So that 1164 questions. Got those done I think by June 21st. Now I have two papers to write. A community assessment and a cultural assessment. If I can find a pediatric patient I would LOVE to get that booger picked off. So that's a possible 3 papers. Plus I need to re-study my skills before our comprehensive check off in August, cause there's plenty I can't quite remember how to do...... Whew! I shouldn't have procrastinated as much as I did but it's summer! It's my very last summer before I have to work for the rest of my life. Ugh. Okay, I'm gonna stop typing now, I'm just depressing myself...... Good luck to everyone else. You guys are amazing I'd throw a big tantrum if I had to do any like working and/or taking summer classes, or anything else besides helping my elderly mom, and taking care of the horses and housework.

I am taking Drug Dosage and Calculations, Intro To Nursing, and Health assessment. I have two weeks left until I am done for the summer, then I have 20 days of no school until the Fall semester starts! I can't wait until I get that break :yelclap:
