OK, since enrollment for Summer 2012 is close to starting, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for those of us who are taking courses this summer.
What courses are you taking? Is this your first time taking the class? When will you apply for nursing school?
Good luck to you all and let's keep each other updated on our summer classes in this thread
Did you like Micro over A&P???
They are such different classes. I *loved* Micro when I took it back in '94. The labs were so much fun and I had a wonderful professor that made class enjoyable. It was HARD, but I learned so much and I felt like I really accomplished something getting an A in that class. I can't believe I have to re-take it, since the credit is "too old" to accept. However, I'm looking forward to re-taking it.
As for A&P, I took that 25 years ago. I loved the Anatomy part. The Physiology made the Anatomy "click". Anatomy was a LOT of memorization, whereas the Physiology was the "why" of how it all works together.
I enjoyed each class, respectively. However, I have to say that I just loved labs in Micro the best
I'm planning on taking chemistry over the summer in an 8 week course. My parents don't want me to though, however, since it's at night in such a shady area. They're worried about me getting shanked on my way to the car. Lol it actually is that bad, but people have taken night classes there before and were fine.
If i don't take it, then i'll be at my JC for 4 years =\
I think the labs in micro are great as you become a microbe detective. In general, you learn about all sorts of microbes and you learn about various bacteria and viruses that can affect us. You learn about how antibiotics/antivirals work as well as vaccines. You even learn a smidgen of public health type stuff and how to put it all together.Leenak what made Micro fun?? Is it studying diseases??
