Summer 2012 - Check in

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

OK, since enrollment for Summer 2012 is close to starting, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for those of us who are taking courses this summer.

What courses are you taking? Is this your first time taking the class? When will you apply for nursing school?

Good luck to you all and let's keep each other updated on our summer classes in this thread :D

Specializes in Neonatal ICU.

I'm only taking an 8-week Microbiology course, since it's the last prereq I have to fulfill before starting my ABSN program in September. I also thought about taking an online Medical Terminology course, but the admissions counselor advised me that finding a really good Med Term book would be more economical as (and maybe even more helpful than) taking an actual course. I don't really have the money to spend on another class this summer (my CC makes you pay 100% up front for summer courses), so I think I'm just going to hit up Barnes & Noble and see what I can find.

Hello :) I will be taking Anatomy & Physiology I, and Remedial Math for the first summer session, then Anatomy & Physiology II and Intro to Statistics for the second summer session.

I was planning on taking A&P I, but I might be moving out of my mom's house and into my aunt's instead, therefore I think I'm going to take it easy instead with Online Intro to Sociology (3cr) & Principles of Effective speaking. (3cr)

I'm taking A and P 1&2 plus labs this summer. Both will be 5 week sessions. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for lecture. Lab is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. No summer for me :'(

I'll be taking a keyboarding for nursing (newly added pre-req) T W R 2p-405p, English 1 online and psych 1 also online in summer 1…chem w/ lab in summer 2. All of the above along with AP1 (taking it this fall) are co-reqs to intro to nursing (pre req to nursing1) so I'll be applying for my invitation come June

I was going to take AP2 and Chem in the summer but I decided to drop AP2 in order to travel. Chem is M-Th, 5:30pm to 10pm. Hopefully the schedule won't kill me.

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

I was able to register on Tuesday. I'm going to have a busy schedule this summer!

M-T-W-R - Anatomy Lecture - 8:10 AM - 9:30 AM

M-T-W-R - Anatomy Lab - 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM

M-W - Psychology - 12:10 PM - 4:00 PM

T-R - Phlebotomy Lecture - 4:10 PM - 5:00 PM

T-R - Phlebotomy Lab - 5:10 PM - 7:00 PM

F - Healthy Lifestyles - 8:10 AM - 12:00 PM

My last day at work is May 15th, so I'll have a few weeks off before school starts up on June 6th. I've been reviewing Cell Biology, Biochemistry & Histology since my Anatomy professor already posted the course syllabus online and our first few classes are a review of these.

Now I'm searching for good deals on the books I'll need. I swear, the books cost almost as much as the tuition!!!

Just got my acceptance letter today! I will be taking one class called Nurse Management & Pharmacology. :)

I'm going to take Pathophysiology I and pharmacology. Hopefully, that will be the first and only times I'm gonna take those classes. I will apply as soon as they're done, for spring 2013! :D

I'm doing a 10 wk CNA course 6 credits also have to retake ENG 102 3 credits 4 weeks and then taking HCR 220 Intro to Nursing 3 credits 6 wks and I'm applying for the program next month
