Stressed about NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I am really stressed out right now because I took my NCLEX for PN yesterday and I feel like I didnt know anything. I know people have similar experiences but I really feel like I was reading a foreing language. The questions were unlike anything I have ever seen. I had all 205 questions and they all seemed hard. I dont know what to do. I cant eat or sleep. And I heard the the people at the testing center know your results but they wont tell you. Does anyone know if this is true. As I was leaving the proctor told me to have a good weekend. Was that a sign? Can somenone would helpful information please respond. Thanks

Couple thoughts -

I do not beleive for a second that the testing center has any clue whether you passed or not. The NCSBN has a contract with Pearson to administer the computerized NCLEX. Those results are then transmitted to your state board of nursing. I could be wrong here, but our results are only interesting to us. Pearson contracts with dozens of companies to administer all kinds of tests, and the NCLEX is just one of many. So even if they *did* have your results, they probably wouldn't look at them if they could, because you're just one of hundreds of customers they saw that week. She probably told you to have a nice weekend because she's been to customer service classes and that's what she's supposed to do. :wink2:

When I took the NCLEX-PN last year, I felt like a complete moron. About question 40, I expected the computer to just stop and say "you know, we don't really need to go on anymore. Why don't you just back away from the keyboard now before you break something. And by the way, here's a brochure for the automotive technology program at the local community college - this might be a better move for you."

Just remember, you can pass with 85 questions or 205 questions. People in my class did it with both, and it doesn't reflect on your ability - that's just what was needed to determine your practical knowledge to a statistically significant degree.

Hi! I will be in your shoes shortly, because I leave LPN school in two weeks. So, I definitely understand. I don't think that the proctors know who passed or who failed. But, I do know that in some states, people are somehow able to find out the following day if they passed or failed. I don't know how they do it. I really wish you the best of luck. I've heard varying things about the degrees of difficulty of the exam, so, I get nervous as well.

Keep us posted, and again, I wish you the very best!

I took the NCLEX-PN about 6 weeks ago and passed with 85 questions.

But you can pass with 205 questions. Good luck.

Commuter is right, plenty of people pass with 205 questions. The Pearson staff at the test centers do NOT know if you passed or not. There is no way the states would allow test center staff to know your results before they were available to the state.

Good luck!

Thanks for the support. I got my results today and I Passed !!!!:nurse:

I took the NCLEX on 2/16 and boy am I stressed out now. I felt like I failed, shut off at 85 and so did my friend's. We are both a wreck. Now we may have to wait four weeks for the results (California). I think I will have a nervous breakdown by then. I seriously felt like I was guessing on 90% of that thing. Anyone else feel like that or am I just an idiot? I know I studied everything I could for four months (Mosby, Delmar, NCSBN extension course) but I felt like they did not good! Help!!!

Hi, my name is Thally I am from N.J can you please tell me if you took an exit exam at the end of your program? what was it ATI or HESI.Any reply will be appreciate.

My classmates and I all had near nervous breakdowns over the NCLEX, but we passed......I wish you luck and wish you didn't have to wait SO long.....we only had to wait for 2 days and it was incredibly DIFFICULT.

To: Thally

Our class did the ATI system during school and finished with a Comprehensive Exit Exam.
