Stressed about NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I am really stressed out right now because I took my NCLEX for PN yesterday and I feel like I didnt know anything. I know people have similar experiences but I really feel like I was reading a foreing language. The questions were unlike anything I have ever seen. I had all 205 questions and they all seemed hard. I dont know what to do. I cant eat or sleep. And I heard the the people at the testing center know your results but they wont tell you. Does anyone know if this is true. As I was leaving the proctor told me to have a good weekend. Was that a sign? Can somenone would helpful information please respond. Thanks

Hello Everyone!

I am a new PN graduate and would like to know what the HESI is? I'm from Las Vegas and we did not have a HESI nor ATI exam- we did have a comprehensive NLN Exam to take, which would tell us what our chances are of passing NCLEX.

PS

I'm up reading right now because I took my NCLEX this morning and am too frazzled to sleep- I am literally shaking right now.:lol2:

Being at the top of my class, I thought this test wouldn't be so hard...BOY WAS I WRONG. I got to the 85th question and then it shut off- I guess I'll just have to see.

I start a new job at a Hospital on Monday- the same day I get my results....maybe I should just call them today and tell them I failed!?:uhoh3:

Well, I have to go throw up again...Would love to hear from anyone.

Thanks for the support. I got my results today and I Passed !!!!:nurse:

I concurr; the proctors have no idea how you did on the exam and it is highly likely that they are not nurses or even nursing students. They are probably hired by Pearson to just proctor which means that they make sure that the test is taken fairly; no cheating. They have rules to follow and that is it. In fact, at least at the testing center I sat at, there are many exams given there besides NCLEX. These people witness alot; people crying, (my friend told me that she actually had a nosebleed just as she sat at her computer), swearing, all sorts of facial expressions; and this person probably just acknowleding that you went through hell and back during that exam.

I cried for two days after my test, and to this day, I do not know how I got home; it was a storm out that day, I remember leaving, calling my friend to tell her that I thought I bombed and then, next thing I knew, I was turning my key in the door and running to my bedroom to cry to my poor, astonished husband. You may have done better than you think. I know it is hard, because it was for me, but there is nothing you can do now, but to wait for the results. Good luck to you!

I wouldn't call them just yet, because you don't know the results. What position did they hire you for at your new job? If it does go south, then, you would have to tell them, of course, but, you may be worrying for nothing. Most people do pass the first time. My test shut off at 85, also, and I was in shock; I had this wild theory that if I got 100 questions, it was a sure-fire win win. I could not wrap my brain around it shutting down at 85. I did pass, last year, and am working as an LPN, so, this may be the same for you. Good luck!

HESI seems to be new to me. I did take the ATI before I graduated, but we were not penalized if we didn't do well. I was in the first LPN program at my school, so, they let us get away with alot since they were unorganized. Now, I am sure that they are making ATI, or maybe some other sort of exam, like this HESI now that they are up and running. ATI told me that I was in the 99% bracket of passing the first time. I did pass (last year), but I didn't believe it when I walked out of that demon of an exam.
