Of course, the irony here is that a nursing student who puts up a giant "No drama!" sign to warn family and friends is being more than a little melodramatic herself.

Nursing students create their own drama. Just finished my 1st semester and it felt like I was in middle school again.

High school....

My nursing-school drama: Mid-program, my spouse decided that that was the right time to leave me.

Fortunately, I had the most bomber clinical instructor ever who flew cover for me. I remember the day I walked in and was told that I was assigned to one of the catty nurses... "Not a good idea," I said, "I'm close to snapping..." I explained the situation to her and one of the other gals agreed to switch with me. She continued to smooth my path as much as was practical and even, when she resigned at the end of the semester, gave the oncoming instructor a 'heads-up.'

I was fortunate to have some awesome people in my cohort and some cool folks running it.

where there are women... DRAMA and fabrication. Tell someone you don't want to be a pediatric nurse because you can't deal with kids... then someone will make up lies about you being a axe murderer looking for kids (of course littler exaggeration here)... the fabrication of lies in workplace is amazing lol

I wouldn't generalize about drama by sex/gender. One of the most dramatic liars I've ever encountered was a male superior...

I put a sign on my study room door that says "Don't disturb the Troll" with a picture of a troll below it holding an ancient hammer.:roflmao:

Most of the drama I've encountered has been stirred up by women. And usually because their head is so far up their own or a guy's behind they're unable to breathe. (And the guy is usually a "drama queen", too.) And usually it's people with similar personalities to my last roommate. Thankfully, these days, I basically steer clear of these sorts people if I can get away with it.

Totally agree!

Specializes in Gerontology RN-BC and FNP MSN student.

I love it! LOL
