Starting pay for new BSN grad

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi! does anyone know the starting pay per hour for a new bsn grad in chicago? what about salary?

Specializes in clinical pathways - ED, home infusion, IT, lab.

I'm bummed & stunned NO ONE has given you any responses... I've started a new thread in general discussion area (about Chicago nursing hire wages) & nothing so far.

Any luck with offers or ideas on what the pay is now? I'm wondering if we've missed the June "frenzy" of hiring ?

I work at IL Masonic and we have a nurse residency program for new grads. I think start pay is around $27/hr.

Well I know that for Resurrection Hospitals, the starting pay is $26/hr.

Specializes in OB, Cardiac.

uic is around 28

Specializes in Tele.

I'm a BSN new grad at Resurrection Medical Center. Base pay is $26/hr plus shift differential.

UIC starts at $27.40 BSN

$26.35 ADN

I am curious as to the amounts of shift differential, weekend rates and whether or not there is the chance for overtime at area hospitals.

Specializes in Psych, Skilled Nursing.

when you say bsn grad, does it mean that you also already passed the NCLEX RN exam?

I know at UIC, the starting pay for new grads is $27.48 for day shift ($57,141/year). There is a $4/hour differential for nights and an additional $5 differential for weekends. I was told that they love new grads...unlike many suburban hospitals who only take them if the job listing specifically states that the position is for a new grad. Good Luck....

Yes UIC loves new grads, I use to work there as a Student Nurse Externship.

They are not hiring at this moment just like any other hospitals in the Chicagoland area.

I heard they might start hiring in October.
