Nursing Students Online Learning

Hey all. I'm a long time viewer, but rarely post. I just wanted to say that i've decided to go thru escelsior to obtain my rn. I'm an LPN, have been for three years, and work in a smaller hospitals CCU/ER.

I've wanted to go for my RN since day one of graduating LPN school, but d/t financial/time restraints have been unable to. I guess i'm honestly here just looking for encouragement that this CAN be done and that i will someday graduate with my RN license.

Welcome aboard. Excelsior is a great program, it does have its bad points, but I don't think I could have done it any other way. I am all done with the class work, and just got my CPNE date today!!! Whoohoo, a little more light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck, I'm sure you will do great!!:yeah::yeah:

Welcome! I just started EC's program; I took Health Safety today and passed w/a B :) Can't wait to take the next one! Good luck and keep in touch! I am sure it's much easier when you know there are people going through it at the same time :)

For Excelsiors Associate nursing degree do you take the exams and the classes or just the exams?

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

you take the exams . they are basically the equivalent to the final in the associate degree courses. but don't be fooled they are hard and comprehensive. :wink2:

This is such a great site to support one another, so nice to know that we are not alone in this journey. I received my unoffical evaluation of my transcript:yeah: so I have a realistic look at what I must complete. . I'm so excited just had to share. I was so worried wouldn't be accepted again. The journey offically begins. Congradulations to all near the end and to all that have finished this journey. You give us all the confidence that this really can be done:rcgtku:

Hi, I have been reading posts all day and think most of my questions have been answered. I have decided to enroll at Excelsior for LPN to RN. I have only a few pre-reqs completed, so I will have to do the majority through ec. How and where do you take the tests? How do you clep out of them? Does ec send you study material or do you have to purchase it all? I'm opting to go it alone without College Network though they call me daily! I'm just worried about the whole start-up thing going solo. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Just the basics on the whole process.

DON'T SIGN WITH THE COLLEGE NETWORK!

You buy textbooks, just as for any other school. You download study guides from Excelsior.

Lunah CLEPed a lot of stuff. I haven't. Google them, and wait until EC tells you what they will accept from CLEP. It's under $100 for a test, I think.

Don't get all ahead of yourself. Take the first step and we'll be here.

:)
