I'm in my first week of NS and never have time to read the posts here... already! I guess the beauty of the A-BSN is that you never have time to quit studying, so the material is always fresh in one's mind... I hope :uhoh3:

Specializes in Obstetrics.

Yes, gone are the days of relaxation. :) Good luck.

Specializes in 10.
Specializes in Critical Care, Postpartum.

I'm actually in class now and posting! Lol. You learn how to balance and don't forget you do need a break from studying.

Thanks, and you're right. It's just the first week. I think the fact that next week (on my 3rd day of class) I already have exams is making me a little twitchy. Talk about fast paced!

Specializes in Emergency Dept. Trauma. Pediatrics.

I was just in a regular associates program and we had tests on a weekly basis and often times 2-3 exams. I think that's just nursing school for you. You will get your grove and get the hang of it though.

Lol, I've often wondered how some students have so much time on their hands to post here. The reality is, your priorities HAVE to change (unless you are one of those people that dint need to study, and it comes more naturally to you). Especially in am accelerated program. The understanding is that you can and will devote almost all if your time to your studies.

The good news is, you will get your life back when you're done. Most people feel it is worth the sacrifice. I bust my butt from end if august till end of may. My reward is my summer off :D

I was one of those students. If I had a test to study for I was finding reasons to be on here and facebook. I just can't find it in me to focus and study. After 15-20 mins I was done. Thankfully I still made it through and did great on NCLEX.

Lol balance indeed! I tend to get distracted too, but a little break to rejuvenate is sometimes needed. I just need to get used to being in school again with so many short semesters. The good news is that for me, in 7 weeks, I will be 20% through my program!!

Don't get me wrong, you definitely need a break. NO one can possibly study 24/7. It's all about balance and willpower :)
