My advice is learn to remember, not to just pass the tests. Going into my third year, I'm most worried about forgetting things. It builds on previous knowledge, so put the effort in right from the beginning to understand the concepts. Ask lots of questions and review often! Good luck, and enjoy the ride! :)
I can't really say because I don't know anything about the program you are attending and I don't know what kinds of things you personally find difficult. In general, most people have to become accustomed to the types of questions asked on exams and the amount of reading and information that must be absorbed. Personally, I don't know that I'd say first semester was hard, but it sure was time consuming. I spent hours and hours every day doing something nursing school related that first semester. But it definitely wasn't my hardest semester. At least then, what was expected of me was low. As you progress, the expectations grow. So just learn as much as you can so that you have a good foundation to build upon. Best wishes!

How hard is the first semester of nursing school? I'm nervous and excited.
