How hard is the first semester of nursing school? I'm nervous and excited.

I've always heard horror stories about how hard nursing school is, so I went in thinking it was going to be the hardest thing I've ever done. I've completed my first semester and about to start my second and honestly it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I got 4 A's and 1 B first semester, and it was pretty much that way for the whole class, so it probably depends on the program.

Are you serious about your grades? this gives me a lot of hope,I start my program in about three weeks and I'm so scared!

I thought first semester wasn't too bad. The hardest thing about it is getting used to the volume of studying and learning how to write care plans. I remember writing my first care plan....it felt like it took all night. By the end of 4th semester it was going in to clinic cold not knowing what you're going to get and doing a care plan throughout the day. Just seeing how much growth occurs is amazing. Just gotta get through that initial shock and it'll get a little easier.

I want to thank everyone for their advice & tips :)

I can't believe it's almost August ! :)

I'll be going into my third year of nursing school. First year I felt so stressed and as though there was so much going on. But as the year comes to an end and you enter 2nd year, you realize that first year was actually pretty easy and you learn time management, how to study better and all that by the end of your first year.

Study what you can and learn how to read research quickly. There's no need to read every single line of text. Talk to your teachers, learn from them, take extra time to get involved with other students, it all helps!

I start my first semester on August 25th at Cal State Fullerton for the Bachelor's RN program. I am so excited and nervous as well!
