St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

highwaygirl....thanks so much...That was clever of you to take a photo!

Thanks Highway girl! That was smart! I guess I kind of assumed they would post what hospital. I guess I am at Health South. That was my first choice. Moskiu what class number are you?

It would be nice if some of us that are in the same classes could get a study group together.

Melody, this is my class info: NUR 1021C-19 LEC(1236). Health South Rehabilitation, Morris,Anne M.

I guess Clem is the clinical lab instructor ( I took photo as well :) )

My CPR is scheduled on 07/27 @9:00am @Life Ed of FL in Holiday (727-375-1111).

Only $40 and around 2 hours in a very small group. Jennifer, who I met at the orientation, highly recommended this place.

I am from Palm Harbor so this location works for me. I got my first Hep- B, Tdap and TB skin test. Going tomorrow to read results. Unfortunately I do not have any immunizations history therefore I have ti do all of it. Hopefully not being ready by 8/19 won't be a problem.

So for the eBook option, what is everyone using as their device?

I am considering getting an iPad mini or iPad 2, but dont know if either will be good/fast enough for the ebooks...

I've got a 13.3" laptop that I plan on bringing to class so I'm going to load them up on that and my desktop computer this weekend and see how they look.

nbluextc, if it does fit your budget I recommend spend a bit more and buy refurbished iPad 3 ($379 on Apple site). This model is using retina display which makes the picture very clear and crisp. Considering the amount of reading we will be doing your eyes will definitely benefit from it.

highwaygirl, Let me know what you think. I am still deciding which package to get.

Have any of the alternates heard anything yet?

I am number 8 on the alternate list and I have not heart anything, my friend was number 9 on the spring semester and she made it in, so I am remaining hopeful, although the wait is slowly killing me...

Check your emails - the letter to sign up for the critical thinking/syllabus/math workshops was sent.

I installed the e-books package last night. I haven't had much time to play around with it, and even though at first review it's not as "flashy" as the marketing makes it out to be (I haven't found any embedded videos yet) I'm glad I bought it. If nothing else it will make compiling my own review guides so much easier since I won't have to write out text from the book and photocopy illustrations. Plus, no lugging around textbooks that are so heavy they can be used as blunt objects.

Depending on how the theory classes go, I might at some point buy a copy of the med-surg book. I can get that for less than $100, so that's still a better deal (e-book only package and $100 for the med-surg printed book) than buying the print + e-book package.

Highway Girl, thank you so much for the reminder. Just signed up for all the workshops offered.

Do we have to wear our uniforms while attending?

Hi all....First time poster here!!!! I figured I may as well join the bandwagon since we will all be seeing A LOT of each other over the next 2 years. I registered for the ATI Test on 7/30. Anyone else going to that one? Also, one other question... Does anyone else remember what we are supposed to have our Skills Kit Receipt for? I remember him saying something about we will need that to do something else, but I can not remember what... By the way, I have Lutocka/ Greenfield at St.Anthony's. Cant wait to get this going, I'm so excited to be starting this new journey :)
