St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

Hi Icujnel7,

i also applied to SPC for Fall '13. I have heard that sometime around June is when notifications are sent out from the college.

Playing the waiting game here too... Good luck!!

Whew someone else to wait with:). Thanks for the info. I was hoping I didn't have to wait until July 15th!! Good luck to you as well!!

Specializes in CVICU, CT Transplant, Transplant ICU, CV Step down.

I also applied..a little on edge ever since I sent my application in.

Are you guys applying to the AS program or the LPN to RN program? I applied to the AS program. I have all of the classes completed, but I hear the fall is harder to get into as compared to the spring. I read a lot of the posts on here from previous years and it seems like some people were finding out just a couple weeks after the application deadline ended. I just want to know either way so I can move on or prepare. ugh the waiting is a killer! Is anyone applying for the EAYL program? I am not, my husband is in the military and we move around too much to commit to a contract post graduation. (If I were to even get accepted) Good luck to everyone :)

The official date that they send out acceptance letters to your SPC email is July 1. Doesn't mean that couldn't send them out earlier if they decided to, though. The last time I saw a counselor she told me to keep checking your email every day up until the May 15 application deadline - if there's a problem with your application they will email you there.

I applied for Fall, too, and also have all my classes completed. I didn't apply for EAYL even though my mom works for Morton Plant because, ultimately, I don't really want to work in a hospital setting when I get my RN license. I'm hoping to work in community health as a patient advocate.

Are you trying to do the LPN to RN or the AS program? I wish the day session went over the summer. Hope we all get in :)

I applied for the ADN program. I have a BS in Communications from Florida State, but I don't have an LPN license. The BS really only helped me in that it counted for the English and Speech Communications requirements. I hear you about the day session - I'm going to select evening classes (if I can) because I want to go through the summer. Good luck!

Yeah my BS degree is in Sports Medicine Athletic Training from USF. I am also trying to do ADN. Good luck to you as well!

I applied for Fall 2013 admission too. The waiting is horrible! I have also heard that it is harder to get in for Fall. THe average GPA is higher than it is for Spring admission. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Does everyone have all their prerequisites done? I am currently taking microbiology lecture and lab as well as Medical Terminology, which I am hoping is going to be beneficial. Glad I have others to wait with :-)

Does anyone know the "no sooner than" date as to when the letters will be mailed out? I mean if they would just say that no one will know no sooner than say June 15, then I know to stop stressing for a little.

As for per-req's, I have all classes completed and support classes completed.

Chris, I think taking medical terminology will def help. I had to take that class for my BS in Athetic Training, and it will save a lot of time looking up meanings:)

Good luck to everyone! Please post if anyone hears anything, thanks:)

Not sure on a "no sooner than" date but from what I've been reading, we probably won't hear until July 1st. Oh, and they no longer mail letters. It is all through your SPC email account.

Good luck!
