St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

nbluextc, check this out 10 Best Stethoscopes for Nurses | The Nerdy Nurse

Everyone check MySPC for your schedule it may be there if you're not in EAYL. Go to register for classes tap and print schedule.

I got section 978 HealthSouth- Burgess and Greenfield

OH....MY ...GOD....i got my first CHOICE. BURGESS. The best first semester clinical instructor. I am SOOOOOO happy. I was SOOOOO scared I would get stuck with Neuziel

Here are feedbacks on our instructors (whoever get these 3 teachers)

Diana Burgess - St. Petersburg College (all campuses) - RateMyProfessors.com (Diane Burgess)

Christine Lutocka - St. Petersburg College (all campuses) - RateMyProfessors.com (Christina Lutocka)

Vicki Greenfield - St. Petersburg College (all campuses) - RateMyProfessors.com (Vicki Greenfields feedback scares me)

So sorry for those who got Nuezil Anna Neuzil - St. Petersburg College (all campuses) - RateMyProfessors.com

I am feeling  and :D and  with a little bit of  thrown in there for good measure.

I got my first choice - days with Burgess at HealthSouth. My commute to clinicals will take approximately 3.5 minutes. Less than 2 minutes if I don't get a red light.

Gotta say, spending $1000 in two days on books/skills kit makes me feel like hurling. I went ahead and got the e-book package because ... might as well get it over with. I'm not opening it for a few days in case I change my mind.

I thought orientation was great, though. It's a little overwhelming but I'm excited to get this thing started. It was nice seeing familiar faces from my A&P and Micro classes.

I am going to price out the books on AMAZON and see if they are cheaper to buy. I hate hauling books around but I am the type who likes the print books.

I also got first choice! Night program with Anne Morris and Angela Clem. It is at HealthSouth also. Anyone else doing this shift?

I wonder if Lutocka and Greenfield will be tag-teaming the teaching of the theory class since they're both listed? I'm not that worried about Greenfield's ratings because all but one of them are from 2009 or earlier.

I normally prefer printed books, too, but I really wanted access to the e-books version and it looks like you can only get that through buying one of the book packages from the bookstore. I priced all those books on Amazon last week and there was only about a $50 difference between the Amazon price and the bookstore bundle. I figured it was worth an extra $50 to get the ebooks, too.

Eventually I decided on the e-books only package because it's significantly cheaper, and if I find that I want 1-2 of those books in printed form, I can buy just those books using the savings.

If anyone who has HealthSouth wants info on restaurants/shopping in the area, let me know.

Hey guys,

If you chose evening classes, are you automatically considered to graduate in 16 months (continuing through the summer) or do you have to go apply for that program?

Thanks!

If you take the night program, you run through the semester non stop and will graduate in DEC 14.

Highway girl, PM your facebook info, so maybe we can setup a study group if you are interested since we are in the same class. I have a couple of other people who got into the burgess class as well if you are interested in forming a study group :)

Congrats to all who made it. Long time reader, first time poster.

I got my schedule for nights for Anne Morris/ Morris......does anyone know what hospital she does? My first choice was Bay Pines but I cant remember who the instructor was on the paper. how can I find out...I tried calling but I have to have someone call me back.

Hi Melody08. That was my first choice as well and I got it! Read some good things about A.Morris not so much about A.Clem. Hopefuly all the "negative" people are wrong :)

Is everyone done with their immunizations? Went to see my physician today and looks like some things ( like Hep.-B ) won't be ready on time.

Moskiu77, I had titers run last week. Just waiting on the results. I was told that the health dept has all the immunizations and you do not need an appointment. I was also told that most of the doctors offices must order the hep B shot because they expire. Have you already completed the CPR class? I still have to do it. I ordered my books today, they should be in sometime next week.

Let me know what they tell you. My class number is 1236. What is yours? My schedule doesn't specify a hospital. I just know that I chose her because she was at health south, but it appears she is also at bay pines. So, now I am really not sure.

I took a photo of the registration paper. The instructor for Bay Pines / Nights (1732) is A. Morris, and the instructor for HealthSouth / Nights (1236) is Clem. Both of those classes have Clem/A. Morris listed as the theory class instructors.
