I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --
Im with you for the wait! Is there any school you are preferring to get into? What is PHSC?
USF is my first choice, but I am not at all confident that I will get in. My overall GPA should now be a 3.5 and my prereq GPA at all universities is calculated as a 3.88 BUT USF only counts first attempt prereqs so my USF prereq GPA is only a 3.5 (I had retaken A&P1, got an D the 1st time & received an A the 2nd try). I will be notified the first week of June whether or not I get an interview.
SPC & HCC both have pros & cons, if I was accepted to both I'm not positive which school I would choose, I love that SPC is so close to where I live now (palm harbor) & that the program may be completed fall 2018, but at HCC they have a concurrent program with USF. Also I had received my AA at HCC, really have loved the teachers there, know the campus well, like how they navigate their courses and the nursing classes are less days a week at HCC.
PHSC (Pasco Hernando State College) is my last choice. I had applied to the campus in new port richey. I believe I qualify for a BSN program at a university, but issues had arised making it unable for me to apply to any other university's this fall. I really don't want to wait any longer or move so I really hope to be accepted into any of these colleges this fall.
So happy that this semester has finally ended! I finished all of my prereqs, and applied to the program with 70 points! If I'm accepted, I would go with the night courses. You graduate a semester early and you get to sleep in lol.
I decided to take the summer off, just to relax and not worry about deadlines. I know we'll have plenty of those in nursing. Can't wait until July 1st!
Congrats! You probably have nothing to worry about getting in then! I need the breaks so im hoping if i get in to stay day classes and have summers off because i have my son..
Thank you! I'm not too worried; however, you never know these days, somthing could happen. I've heard that it's much harder to get into the fall than spring.
Theres definitely pros and cons with taking day/night classes. At least you'll get the summers off! It's nice to have a long break.
How is everyone holding up??
I am keeping my mind busy at times but because I work at a local hospital and i see others who are applying...
I feel like im losing my mind!
lol I'm going on a long vacation next monday!! Hopefully that will take some pressure off for those 2 weeks then ONE MORE LEFT! I was also thinking about the classes.. Maybe i do want to take evening classes. I dont know! I feel like everything is on HOLD
I also wanted to say..
Lately ive been feeling like what if i can't make it through? What if im not smart enough? What if i fail at some point? How does that work?? I must have a touch of anxiety. Is that normal?
I'm holding up over here! I was one of the crazy ones that took summer classes. Little did I know the one class I signed up for is only an 8 week one. SURPRISE!! So most days I'm up to my eyes in papers but at least I'll have two more done! I also work full time so, thankfully, I'm adequately distracted.
I'm anxiously waiting. I was just wondering today how everyone was doing now that we're in the last 30 days. So it's awesome that you posted this, I know I'm not alone!
I think your worries are normal (I've had them too). Anything worth doing is never ever easy. We got this! I've also been told that if you can make it through pre-req's you'll be fine. It's a different way to study, a TON of work all at once but once you adapt you'll be fine. I guess we'll find out!! (maybe) I, no doubt, will fail at some point. Key thing to remember is learn from it and get right back up fighting! We didn't get this far for nothing, right??
Also super anxious! 3.7 prereq. I finished all my prereqs and AA in December, can't wait to hopefully start a nursing program in August. Took 5 classes in the spring just to raise my overall GPA and a CNA program to keep busy, but all that has ended in the beginning of may and now I'm currently just going crazy waiting! Waiting to hear back from various colleges, waiting to hear back from the nurse helper position I applied to at baycare, waiting for my CNA state license exam to be scheduled, waiting to be able to start volunteering at a couple places, waiting to know the date I'm able to move into this house in palm harbor. Oddly missing taking classes and envy everyone able to keep busy right now. I've been finding it really hard to relax this summer until I'm hopefully accepted somewhere. Happy there's people here I can relate to and know the struggle of the process of getting accepted into nursing school. Wishing everyone good luck and perseverance to never give up :)
One more month to go. I have 70 points, the only thing that is irritating is how expensive semester 1 is. Good-gracious, I hope my grant and scholarships take the brunt of that burden. I will be doing nights, as well as, doing clinicals at Baypines VA. As I was an Infantry Soldier from 2012-2016. Good luck men and women.
I'm doing great over here! Just keeping busy until July 1st! I seriously can't believe how fast time is passing. We have exactly one month to go!
I'm also going on a long vacation. I think we desperately need one before nursing starts lol. Hope you all have an amazing summer and
Good luck to the ones taking summer classes.
