SPC students applying for fall 2017??

Published

I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

I am still looking, what kind did you get? My phone is working for me right now but i have to delete them because it takes up a lot of space. I want to be able to download the recordings to a usb drive or something. I don't know how this is going to work yet but we'll see. Ill figure it out! Im going to wait till i know if I get in or not to buy but its good to have pointers on what to look for.

Of course! I originally used my phone too, but like you, it was taking up all my storage lol. Here is the link for the recorder: Amazon.com: eBoTrade Digital Audio Voice Recorder / Dictaphone / MP3 Player -8GB / 65

I use a voice recorder for my pre-req classes now and it's amazing!! It really helps overcome the distraction moments or even when you KNOW you just read that and your looking for it but he/she just keeps on talking..... (also helps for exam review time!)

Mine is this one:

Amazon.com: Sony ICD-SX712 Digital Flash Voice Recorder: Office Products

It's an oldie but goodie and still works AMAZING!! I can even transfer the files to my iPhone via iCloud and listen to them on the go!

Thanks! In a way i wish i didn't apply so early because now i'm waiting and waiting! --100days and counting..

I'm right there with ya.. but I'm still eyeball deep in Microbiology hell (Plus psych and speech) so at least I have distractions!

I also just registered for summer classes to keep my busy for the summer months - wee~!!!

I want to take summer off. I only have 4 credits needed for graduation. Or it may be three.. Ill have to count again. But i know how crazy nursing school will be and I stayed through summer last year with my newborn at the time. I cried, he cried, we cried through finals. I just need some time to wind down before I jump into something major. And if i don't make it in i'm finishing my AA and reapplying for spring admission during the fall. Plus it's a much shorter time to apply because it will start in what? application starts September notified by Nov 1st for Jan? I feel like if i dont make it in its no big deal to wait one more semester. I also am going to leisurely read through some med surg or maybe pick up a fundamentals book to ground the foundation. Not sure yet.

Many instructors will not allow voice or video recording. I am in level 3, and this is the first semester it has been allowed.

That is a bummer! Were you a cna before entrance to the RN program?

I'll just put this here for a moment.....

3 months until we find out!!! Weeeee

(88 days but who's counting!)

I am! Seriously! Lol i am trying not to get too hyped up in case i dont make the alternate list but im counting down too!

Good news for people who haven't taken the reading test, including myself! I spoke with an advisor (J.C) at the health education center this morning and he said that for nursing the reading isn't required anymore as of about 1.5 months ago! I haven't been worried about passing it, I was going to do it in a week or so but now I don't need to anymore!

Well that kind of stinks because i took the reading course this semester which i have a 98 in.. and i could have taken my 2nd language instead of wasting those credits! I guess its okay though because ive learned a bit in the class that will help me study faster with ease..

Well that is one less test I have to take during finals week! Thanks for the heads up!
