SPC students applying for fall 2017??

Published

I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

How is it graded anyway? Curious..

All I know is that it's an adaptive exam. Each answer determines the next question.

How did it go? I was just reviewing a TEAS test 6 manual i purchased because for one, if i cant get into SPC i am going to need it and the other reason being is because i have heard of them testing on the TEAS test in orientation. I have to say if you need an extra boost and you learn better with a book in your hands the ati teas 6 manual is pretty good. I think im going to take the test again after going over this a few times because its already opened my eyes to a few things i remember now but had forgotten at the time of my test or i wasnt really looking at the passage that way..

I haven't heard anything about the TEAS test in orientation yet. But I have a friend that's starting nursing school in the spring. I'll have to ask her about that and get back to you. Were you able to retake the reading test?

No im going to stick to taking the class and im going to retake it in February closer to the date. I feel like sticking to the reading class too because if i am having trouble other than distractions it will help and prepare me for all the reading i will be doing. I have already started preparing for the teas test in case and the reading questions are similar in a way

That's a great idea :) I think it's an online course too, so it shouldn't be too inconvenient for you. I'll have to look into that TEAS book as well. Even though I passed the reading test, I still struggled a bit. So I think that book can help prepare me too because there's a lot of reading in nursing lol

Hi guys!

Current SPC Nursing Student here. They do not do the TEAS test at orientation, unless they've changed it since I started. Just wanted to give some insight :)

Thanks, i still think i lt is a good idea to be well and ready on the way in since ill be waiting 8 months to even find out if i can get in or not.. lol and if i cant the knowledge will become useful i wont have to study to take the teas.. so did you get in this semester? Yay!

I agree. It never hurts. I actually am going into my 3rd semester so they may have changed things. I understand if you are doing it as back up. I just didn't want anyone to have any extra stress that goes along with applying! :)

Thanks smw! My friend recently had orientation and they still don't do the TEAS test. Very happy about that :D

So what is it like? Did you apply for days or night class? Do the night classes finish faster? Did you have an option? Do you mind if i ask when you applied what your entrance gpa was?

Applying for fall Nursing at SPC. Currently have CUM 4.0 (Taking Micro, Stats, and ethics this semester) I have a very narrow window of opportunity as grades post May 5th, and application deadline is May 15th I believe.

But good luck everyone.

Also, I took the reading test, and computer literacy test. Passed, wasn't difficult and saved me time for sure.

Hi, Rick! And congratulations, we're almost to the finish line! I spoke to an advisor regarding the time we have to apply, and he assured me that we have plenty of time as they start looking at the applications May 16th. Our grades (like you stated) will post may 5th. Good luck to you:nurse:
