Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

I totally hear you. Keep me updated! I'm wondering if different advisers have different information... who are you seeing? Also, I've signed up for a bls class next week just to get one step ahead of the game. Even if I don't make it, it's good for two years.

I forgot her name. But I'm gonna go Friday. If I hear anything new about the number of seats open I'll let you know. I'm also starting to sign up for things. I figured it would make it easier if I do get in.

My friend has 3.75 nursing gpa and 3.9 overall gpa and he is number 3 on waiting list

Thank you! Got them! :)

That's really weird then but definitely good news! I think I'm gonna go in early tomorrow morning just to double check. I know I'm obsessing but I hate not knowing.

I kinda want to go back in too or try calling, gonna be super anxious till July 17th & really upset now if I'm not accepted.. the advisor made it seem like I will for sure be in and not to be stressed. I was in shock when she told be I was high up on the list (1-5) and didn't even ask for my exact number.

Just got off the phone with Chris Kerr at HEC... I'm number 12. Everyone in front of me has the same GPA, we were randomly ordered. He also said that only 80 out of the 90 openings have been filled, so you two girls at 5 & 7 better start getting excited! I'm going to submit my application for spring just in case but I really really really hope to be joining everyone this fall!!!

Really hope this is true!! Gonna be so devastated now if I'm not accepted. Praying all of us on the alternate list get in!

I completely agree! I was so excited I didn't ask anything. Now I'm writing down questions so that way I will ask all. Lol

Hey you guys, if you still need that physical it's free in the building behind HEC, spc partners with a chiropractic physician program, and they'll do the physical for free. I scheduled mine for upcoming Wednesday.

I also completed the HEC advisor audit.

Do you know if we get our schedules on the day of orientation? :)

I am not sure.

I know they will go more in depth on the checklist, a campus tour, etc.

Hmm I wonder when we will find out what our clinical site will be then?

By the way, Peaches, what happened to you... the whole computer gliche... really messed up. But I appreciate how you didn't get sad or upset about it. You just wanted the problem resolved/explained. I respect your reaction. Lesson learned: don't be too quick to assume. Congrats on getting in!

The system said I didn't have a course completed when we both saw it on the screen as done. It was done when she signed off before I applied and was there when we sat together on Monday. She had no idea what happened. I honestly think it was an oversight on either a physical person or the computer (like she said) simply messed up.

For me, most things are fixable. It's better to go in with a calm level head then to go in both barrels blazing. I've learned to work with the system not against it. Besides, people just simply stop listening when you start yelling and cussing. It's human nature to simply shut down. In a professional setting there is no place for that type of behavior. Also, if you ever have to go against the grain just make sure to have all your ducks in a row so there is no wiggle room to prove you are not absolutely right in your position. :)

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, setting up study groups and just jumping in both feet! I've heard some of the BEST friendships are built during nursing school. I hope that holds true!
