Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

1. I did chicken pox titer. I had hep B already.

2. Scrubs you only have to buy at scrubs and stuff. They carry the style and they sell embroidered scrubs for SPC students, it is navy blue. Cannot buy any other scrubs.

3. SPC college has a DO part that gives free physicals to you or your family members if you are a student. You can even get x-rays etc. It does take 2 hours. Took me forever with nervous shaking DO students LOL

4. CPR card -google it up, there are a lot of places, you can do fire department, they have classes. It has to be American heart for healthcare providers. Cannot be anything online, in person only. will cost you about 40 bucks.

Hello all. I got in.

I have completed as of now:

-Letter of intent

-Labcorps 10 panel + alcohol (UA)

-Fingerprints at UPS (scheduled appointment)

-Background check complete

-BLS (CPR & AED) AHA

Mind you, all you need is that authorization sheet with you at orientation.

As well as, clinical requirements are due 1AUG17.

I am doing nights.

Congrats! Are all of these completed on your to do list or you have them in progress still?

I'm right there with ya Rick. The castlebranch website helps me tackle the to do list! I already had CPR, check. Scrubs, check. Physical, check.

The only thing I'm working on are the immunizations. I already have my paperwork from when I was a kid along with supporting docs from Baycare showing that I need the MMR titers (no I'm no an EAYL student). Hopefully, I'll be getting my shots today and just waiting on this list to show completed!

Where did you buy your scrubs? :)

And do we need the BLS certification?

Just got off the phone with Chris Kerr at HEC... I'm number 12. Everyone in front of me has the same GPA, we were randomly ordered. He also said that only 80 out of the 90 openings have been filled, so you two girls at 5 & 7 better start getting excited! I'm going to submit my application for spring just in case but I really really really hope to be joining everyone this fall!!!

I am a pre nursing student, still completing pre-reqs. I guess my question is when you actually enter the nursing program, is it entirely impossible

to have a full time job as well go to nursing school? I'm currently working a full time job, i'm not really in the position to move to part-time. Is it just the fact that the courses are hard that they say it would be tough to have a full time job and go to nursing school? Any thought? Anyone in nursing school now and working a full time job?

You're almost there too! I'm just hoping that the list didn't fluctuate too much. I kind of want to go in again and find out.

Actually I brought that up to him, his exact words were "I don't know where you're getting that information, but the alternate candidate list has not fluctuated since it was posted". He said it won't begin to fluctuate until alternate candidates become admitted.

That's really weird then but definitely good news! I think I'm gonna go in early tomorrow morning just to double check. I know I'm obsessing but I hate not knowing.
