South Florida LPN's

Published

Im wondering.. which hospitals in south florida hire LPN's? base pay?

Most hospitals hire a limited amt of LPN in SWF. But I doubt if you will except the pay. $13.50-$15.00 @ the most for base pay.

Base pay in previous post is about the same in the Tampa area at hospitals if you can find one that is hiring lpns.

inland SW FL it's not much better, experienced LPN's make around 15$hr while a fresh RN makes 20$hr

Base pay when I started here in 1999 with 20 years experience was a bit over $12.00. Last year top scale at our hospital for LPN's is almost $22.00 an hour not including shift differential.

I worked as an LPN in FL from 94-97. I found the most money to be in home health and agency nursing. I was making $15-$18/hr back then. I have a friend who went to LPN school with me and she works for a research firm going to collect info from pts in the hospital. She says she makes near $80k. Mind you, she's been an LPN now for 14 years. I'm no longer an LPN but perhaps the market got saturated with LPNs? I can't see why the pay would not go up....

The law of supply and demand I suspect. What I quoted is for working the local hospital. I believe pay in LTC is more, however I do not have any figures to substantiate that with. Also depends on what part of this state you are in, or in what other parts of this country you are in. I envy your friend her $80,000 .

Fort Myers Area

LTC does make more money. I work in LTC in the Fort Myers area.

i lived in naples 5 years ago and Naples Community Hospital hired LPNs. I dont know if they still do. I never worked there. Did my clinicals there though. I think back then the starting wage was between 13 and 15 an hour.

where I work, LPN's only are being hired in the ER, and on the floors the LPN's there are because they have been LPN's at the hospital before.

$13/hr
