I'm working noc shift on 12/24, 12/25, and 12/26.
anyone else working crazy hours like these? How are you spending holidays with your families while working?
We are doing our family get-togethers on different days. Doesn't bother me one bit that I have to work. We get 2.5x our hourly rate for Christmas day work.. CHA-CHING!
Happy Holidays,
Diane
i have to work tonight... sounds like its going to be "fun" too... they called me time after time after time last night to come in on my night off i get tomorrow "off" and then have to work sat and sun, along with new years eve. new years eve i am first up for LC tho (im sure it wont happen if its crazy at christmas already)
I'm at work now. Night shift Xmas eve into christmas day. Its really depressing for me. My family and I have to do Christmas early just to accomodate my sleepiing schedule b/c i have to sleep in order to come back for tonight. it really makes me rethink my life as a nurse. I hate that I have to give up my holidays. I mean don't get me wrong, I know I'm helping people but doing 12hr shifts both Xmas eve and Xmas day is no way I wanted to end the year 2009. I do at least get New years Eve and Day off but still Xmas is really special to me. The census is so low of course and this night is dragging. Hence the fact that I'm on this website now when I should be working but I have nothing to do right now. Hope everyone else has a good mas. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Good Luck with the Turducken.......................My sister fixed one of those last year for Thanksgiving; she said some people liked it and some people didn't.I'm off work.......................I'm collecting Unemployment benefits.
I saw a recipe for this once and I thought it was a joke. Do you really put a duck inside a chicken inside a turkey? I dont get it.

Actually you put the chicken inside the duck inside the turkey. The duck and the turkey are split open and deboned and a layer of dressing is spread between each bird and the chicken is filled with stuffing. It's all wrapped up and then roasted for several hours. It's an old Southern dish that has started spreading around the country thanks to Paula Deen and the Food Network.

Christmas and the weekend afterwards. We're doing Christmas today. My kids have always been pretty good about switching Christmas--as long as we have it before and not after :). I'm missing the big family get together tomorrow, but I'm grateful to have a job I love and a family that's willing to throw a second get together New Year's Eve Day (I work New Years, too) so that I can come
.
