Snow, Where Are You?

I may be in the minority here but I am hoping for 0 snow days this year. 1) I HATE snow. I HATE being cold. This might stem from my time in the hospital, where snow was not an excuse to miss work but I have never liked cold weather. 2) I would rather have no snow days and get out of school the second week in June.

Now last year, before I was a school nurse, I remember hearing on the news that my district had closed school because of COLD. Not even for snow. Not a flake to be seen but it was too cold to send kids to school. That's insane. I never had that when I was a kid! I was wrapped up like Randy from "A Christmas Story" and on my way before you could say "frostbite."

I am currently using the hair dryer reserved for drying pants that met puddles on the playground to thaw my frozen digits. I really am always cold which makes me both annoying to be around and a terrible sleeping partner.

I"m with you! I HATE HATE HATE snow! So far two delayed starts for cold but no yucky white stuff. If this holds we get out the middle of May! I'm good with that, golf trip then last week of April and come back to work for 2 more weeks would be awesome!

Last year was crazy. We did have 1 the day after the 10th grade trip off, so I was grateful for that.

Then had 4 more. Ugh.

I like 1 or 2 days, beyond that, no.

I forgot how many snow days we had last year. I think we had like 2 snow days, 2 cold days, and then several late starts cause of cold weather.

Also from MA...we had 5 straight snow days last year. Cut way into my beach time in June! I'd be happy with one or two this year, but no more than that! Late starts and early dismissals on the other hand....bring them on! (they count as a full day)

I'll take a couple of snow days. Maybe just a Friday or Monday for a long weekend!

Wow, how cold?

Wow, how cold?

We had cold days called for temps of -25 with wind chill of -45/-50. Can't have kids waiting for a bus at that temp- frostbite can happen in minutes!

We have had cold days too. Buses dont run well in -25 degree weather and too dangerous to have them loaded with kids. Also, we have a good population of kids that walk to school, so that's not good to have them outside like that.

My wife always keeps her hair dryer at the ready. She is the only progesterone producer in the house and is much colder than the rest of us.

I'm from northwest indiana and I just remember on one of the extremely cold night I had to go to play practice because my director did not want to cancel rehearsal.
