We are expecting a blizzaard today, so I'm home on the couch! Might clean, might wrap some presents, or might just sit here and watch tv! Hope everyone has a good day!
We are normally not very nervous about snow at all, and rarely call off school, but the winds were predicted to be about 50 mph with snow falling at 9am. I imagine they didn't want to get the kids at school and then not be able to get them home safely. However, here I sit at almost 1pm with only a few flakes flying around. That's weather forecasting for ya!
I grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and if a single flake was ever sighted the whole darn city shut down and parents rushed to school to pick up their kids! Now that I live in the great white north it sometimes (literally) takes the governor to get schools to close.
Hahaha, sounds right! Snow + Texas = Mass Chaos!! Driving in the rain is hard....don't even mention driving in the snow!!
I'm jealous! In Chicagoland, we have weirdly warm weather right now, but it's going to be in the teens by mid-week.
I love snow. I hate rain with a fiery passion, but snow is delightful (to me).
I am there with you in the west 'burbs of Chicago! The weekend was awesome- we got a bunch of yardwork done! Tomorrow it drops
It is 81* in North Texas presently. I saw people in shorts and tank tops yesterday while I was Christmas shopping. We don't have snow days; we have ice days. Our temps, when cold, usually hover around freezing; just enough for the cars to melt the accumulation and then re-freeze. Makes for happy drivers.
No snow days here in PA, just weather that's warm one day and freezing the next. When I was in 4th grade my best friend moved from OH to GA. She called to tell me that they had a snow day and she could not believe that they got miss school because of a dusting of snow. I remember her saying "There's not even enough to make a snowball!" meanwhile, in OH we were still going to school despite there being 10 inches of snow on the ground.
California could use some water today tho, in Ventura, any SN peeps out there?? Hope you are all safe!
I know they need rain in the worst way. I was visiting and making the trip to LAX to fly out at 4AM on a weekday and it looked like demolition derby. Worse than anything I've seen on the East Coast.

Oh I am jealous, not because of the snow (in MA, we will get plenty of it I am sure) BUT I really could have used an extra day off today to catch up from a crazy, fun, busy weekend! LOL
I would sit on my couch and watch Hallmark Christmas movies all day! ENJOY!
