singing?

Published

I love nursing, I love patient care the most and the TLC side of nursing. I can be quiet but at the same time Im quite bubbly and I try to be optimistic :D I however also LOVE music, I play guitar and its how I destress after the day. I often play at friend get togethers and basically singing and music is just something in me...I know how odd that sounds lol I often find myself singing away to myself while Im on clinicals...like obviously not at the patient but while Im doing tasks like making beds. Does anyone else ever catch themselves singing?

Chest PT goes well with the song: "Tea for Two"

I am sure the patients would rather have a singing nurse over one who rolls their eyes at them. Just sayin'. :smokin:

Very true. But, they would never want to hear it again!!

I randomly whistle.(hence my name) Seems I'm not always aware when I am doing it. The residents love to catch me at it and make me blush. I picked my name out of affection for them.

I do sometimes sing. Several of the residents are bedridden and when I spend time with them (feeding/treatments or bathing) I will quietly sing. One lady has Elvis memorabilia in her room so I sing her Elvis songs, very poorly mind you. I hope it gently filters into her mind and she knows someone cares for her.

Fairly often.

I get kinda hyper when I'm in a good mood. I'll sing and even do a stupid jiggy dance and get a laugh... or when I'm really happy, I have the world's stupidest looking moonwalk.

When I'm nervous, I don't dance or sing... I hum and drop stuff.

My pts like me though.

;)

i have to assume i sing all the time, since i've been commanded to shut up tntc.

and, my son's gf was just telling me the other day, "i love it when you sing...you sound so cute".

my son later told me that gf giggles everytime she hears me...which happens to be a lot.

if people complain, only because of my bad singing voice and the subsequent annoyance, i tell them to pound sand or another equivalent.;)

i seriously cannot help myself...nor do i care to.

I always sing. I can't help it, I just love to sing... hence the name. If I'm not singing, I'm whistling. The residents love it and if per chance I'm not singing, they ask me if I feel alright. Music is a great destressor for me and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sing.

I do when it's the church music or some visiting singers...I can't help sing along softly..not like I'm gonna grab the med cart and do a Musical or something down the halls...

sounds like something stupid i would do.

lol!

i love the visual of a med cart musical!

I didnt think I would be the only one who sings!! I must admit though, I only tend to do it when Im on my own, I can be awful shy......well until people get to know me that is!! hahaha Music generally makes things better, even if only a little bit! :)

I was giving a bath to a dear LOL that we knew (and she knew) wasn't going to be with us much longer. So I found myself singing "His Eye is on the Sparrow." After I finished with the bath, my pt smiled and said, "Honey, you're the sweetest thing, but don't quit your day job..." We both got a good laugh out of it.

I listen to pandora when I chart. Ive been known to bust out into random dance every once in awhile. I do not sing though. Ever.

Anyone that knows me or has known me for at least a day knows that I sing and dance all day...I do tame my self at clinical though unless we are in the conference room lol...
