wondering how the program is going for anyone that is in it, thanks, applied tonight and just want to make sure I pick the right school.
Fdt2283, I am taking the biology bridge course now. I applied and was accepted for January, but due to the bridge I won't start the nursing program until March. It's 8 weeks long and is online (synchronous and asynchronous). Since the course has already started this week, you will probably begin it in March and core Nursing in May. Just a guess for you though.

I agree with PNW, my friend was accepted for March, however, she has to take the Bridge in march and will start nursing in may according to the enrollment rep.
Hey all! Question about your application.
For the references it asks for 3. The last one is recommended to be from a NP or masters prepared nurse. I don't have a NP I work with, or follow. I'm wondering if that is going to hurt my application. Instead of a NP or masters i'd use a nurse I've worked with for years.
What are your thoughts on this? The rep from simmons suggested i try to find a NP but i don't want to stress over this.
I didnt have an Np recc. My admissions counselor said people can substitute it with a 3rd recc from an academic or employer instead of an Np. I'm sure its not as great as having an Np recc but if the rest of your application is well rounded, i'm sure it wont be a big deal. Like I said, wasnt an issue for me!
Just wanted to give all of you that are thinking about Simmons some advice, I am so happy and feel confident I made the right choice to attend this college. I am enrolled full time and am working 5 12 hr shifts per 2 weeks. There is a lot of studying, papers, quiz, but it is doable. The teachers are fantastic, they are all practicing NPs and are very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this school and there program. It will be worth every penny. Good luck to you all!!!!

Those of you accepted that have to take the Statistics Refresher...hold off for a minute, I sent a letter requesting that they accept the Saylor.org MA121 Statistics course which is a FREE course and FREE exam and FREE certificate as the "refresher" instead of using SL, due to SL's costs associated with "membership" considering it's supposed to be a "refresher" NOT a credit bearing course...hopefully we will hear by next week the outcome!
