And it is driving me CRAZY! I leave mid-day, so people are in and out of my office even when I am not here to grab band-aids, ice packs, and apparently TISSUES!!! Seems like an annoying, petty complaint, but I have sick kids in and out all day and I will go to reach for the box and it is gone. I just put a new one on my desk yesterday morning and the entire box walked sometime between 2 pm yesterday and 8 am this morning. They tissues are stored two floors up in a big storage closet so it is a PITA to go get them, and we are not allowed to hoard them. Grrrr....rant over
A local pizza place has taped spoons to all their pens so people stop signing their credit card slips and taking the pens. Maybe if you write on the box "THIS BELONGS TO THE NURSE" if someone's thinking about taking it, they'll think twice. Good luck!
Good idea!
Maybe she should write "this was STOLEN from the nurse".
I don't understand why stuff can't be locked up. I guess it's more convenient to leave stuff out in the open, but if you know it could well go missing, it has to be locked up. Or am I missing something?\
Why can't you just tell people, like the cough drop, Kleenex, bleach, and TAO thieves and glove "borrowers", to stop taking stuff that is budgeted for the children and the budget has to last the whole year.
There is a nice yet effective way to let folks know that supplies are not for their personal use and that you do have to adhere to a budget.

What a novel idea...why didn't I think of that?
I would guess most of us don't have unlimited space to lock things up. I have one locked cabinet in which I choose to lock up Rx medications.
For the cough drop teacher - put them away so he has to ask for them and you dole out ONE at a time.
Missing from my office: scissors, Lysol, staple remover, cups. NO one wants my cheap sandpaper tissues though.
Every student here is supposed to bring a box of tissues as part of their school supplies - maybe a new rule for next year?
BTW; my super nice moisturized tissue is hidden in my cabinet for my personal use.
