sick as a dog

the nasty crud finally found me. i started chilling and dizzy friday night. i was so dizzy i couldn't turn over in bed. but i had to get up for work because it was to late to call in. i felt a little better saturday during work.. then saturday night, it hit me again, i got home and my throat was so sore and i just ached and had chills and fever again. i took more tylenol and went to bed. i figured i only had to work sunday and i was done for the week. so i went to work. i was so sick all day i was chilling and hot and my throat was so sore. my brother in law who is a doctor came over and wrote me a script for spectracef and some cough syrup. i still feel sick but a little better from the chills and fever. i've been on the antibotic for 24 hours now, and my throat dosen't hurt as much. i have been in bed most of today but knew i had t get out of bed and move around. i smell of vicks vapor rub and in my flannels... anybody else have the creepin crud? i am heading to bed early tonight .. and i don't work until friday.. thank goodness..

I could not get warm, cold hard chills, extreme weakness, aches, dizziness, fever 102-104. Our ER is full of it. I was on antibiotics because I also had pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon.

thank you i love those balloons.. i still can't get warm.. i've been on antibotics for about 24 hours and i still shiver and want to lay down.. i hope we all get well soon.

You all forgot about the dull headache that threatens to explode after a bout of coughing. My throat looks like it has a rash, bumpy and red. Ah-h-h, but I am a bit better now. Thanks for the balloons...now back to our warm tea. AND it helps to wear a hoodie, keeps the back of the neck from getting chilly...

Gee.. here I thought the chills were because I colored my hair and I was running around with a wet head and a tee shirt.... *DOH*

1% = # of people who die with the flu

99% = # of people who think they are going to die with the flu

i looked on webmd and they advise if you have a fever it is probably flu and you should go to md for antiviral meds

they were advising on the difference between common cold and the flu

i have called the pp and he will call in meds for flu and once for vertigo so that is better than going in and infecting everyone in the waiting room with my terminal flu

Yeah, I had something along those lines last month, and hanging out with flu patients doesn't help....you mask, etc...but I think 1/2 of it is psychlogical.....I just start off with the low grade fever, sleep 14 hours, then take a lot of dayquil for 2 days....works like a charm....of course, a shot of Jack doesn't hurt every now and again....

we've seen a rash of it in the er, my preceptor does not give abx, he read this study that says it is caused by strep and that abx won't help. something about strep being self-limiting. i am learning a lot from this guy. my pcp always gives me a rocephin shot for this mess.

i had it for 3 weeks in december--im rocephin and three weeks of levaquin to kill it off..fluids, rest, and don't go back to work too soon!

i did, and got a secondary otits and brochitis for my stupidity!!:smackingf

Our ER doc also had this crud on Fri same symptoms you were having. He could barely talk. We are short on docs so he had to work. He was walking around w/ a warm blanket r/t chilling. Poor guy didn't get any rest as we were busy w/ people coming in w/ the crud. I'm hoping I don't catch any of it. I had sooooo many people/adults & children hacking all over the place, several w/ influenza A I'm sure the place was just crawling w/ nasty little germies. Hoping to stay healthy!

I started feeling bad last night.. dull headache, crud in my sinuses, post nasal drip.. Today I feel worse with the headache, crud, and post nasal drip.. but I also feel achy all over, esp my neck and back. Temp is only 99.3 though. I've thought about going and getting one of those nasal kits that cleans out your sinuses. Has anyone tried it?
