sick as a dog

the nasty crud finally found me. i started chilling and dizzy friday night. i was so dizzy i couldn't turn over in bed. but i had to get up for work because it was to late to call in. i felt a little better saturday during work.. then saturday night, it hit me again, i got home and my throat was so sore and i just ached and had chills and fever again. i took more tylenol and went to bed. i figured i only had to work sunday and i was done for the week. so i went to work. i was so sick all day i was chilling and hot and my throat was so sore. my brother in law who is a doctor came over and wrote me a script for spectracef and some cough syrup. i still feel sick but a little better from the chills and fever. i've been on the antibotic for 24 hours now, and my throat dosen't hurt as much. i have been in bed most of today but knew i had t get out of bed and move around. i smell of vicks vapor rub and in my flannels... anybody else have the creepin crud? i am heading to bed early tonight .. and i don't work until friday.. thank goodness..

lol your not alone in your illness.. hope you feel better soon

Yeah, I hope you feel better soon too. I just started my abx a couple of hours ago, so hopefully they'll kick in soon.

indeed....I had it last week, couldn't get warm, low grade temp, ached all over.

Hope you feel better soon.

Something along those lines here too, but I figure it was viral, so no abx unless it shows signs of going bacterial on me - feeling better now, except for the coughing fits.

at least you didn't go to the ER.......................

lol nooo i had the er come to me.. my brotherinlaw stopped over after he left the er... i called him and asked him to stop by on his way home.. i was upstairs working with my patients in the same hospital he works in the er.. i called him during work on sunday and he got to my house right after i got home.. i could never of sat in the er .. i was to sick...i am going to bed soon.. trying to find something to watch on tv

We've seen a rash of it in the ER, my preceptor does not give abx, he read this study that says it is caused by strep and that abx won't help. Something about Strep being self-limiting. I am learning a lot from this guy. My PCP always gives me a Rocephin shot for this mess.

and what a mess it is.. yuck... my brother in law said they have seen alot of it in the ER to.

i hope everyone feels well very soon.

i don't want to say anything about my health, fearing i'll jinx myself...

and, imo, motrin works better than tylenol.

big hugs to the bunch of you.

Count me in too...although besides your symptoms, I also have incredibly achy, painful limbs (especially my legs) and epigastric pain radiating to my right back. Going to see my MD in the morning if the threatened snowstorm misses us and I can get out.

(more of a sorry limp right now LOL)

I could not get warm, cold hard chills, extreme weakness, aches, dizziness, fever 102-104. Our ER is full of it. I was on antibiotics because I also had pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon.
