Season's Greetings to allnurses!

Updated:   Published

Even though I retired from nursing this past Spring and am heavily involved in my art, allnurses continues to be my favorite website. And General Nursing is my favorite forum.

I come here to identify with nurses & their situations, to recall my own, offer advice and/or support when I can, to learn, and to continue to feel a sense of belonging & camaraderie.

So, I want to send Season's greetings to all the members, mods & and administrators, and my friends on allnurses with the gift of a GIF:

One of the reasons I became a nurse and stayed a nurse was that the field always kept me interested. I was constantly learning and continue learning still. I pick up bits of information from topics discussed here on allnurses, and my medical nurse wife Belinda and I regularly discuss her work.

I did a little research on Rudolph before sculpting him to get a point of reference. I learned that Rudolph's TV program first aired in the Christmas season of 1964! Fifty six years ago! It is the longest continuously running Christmas TV special!

I was  seven years old when I first watched Rudolph! Although it was televised in color, I watched it on my family's black & white TV.

It probably looked something like this:

Merry Christmas  Davey Do

Happy Holidays, Dave!

All I want for Christmas is a multi-million dollar winning lottery ticket. What? A girl can dream, right? ?

I'll split the cost of the ticket with you if you'll share the winnings with me, @NurseBlaq??

Oh my gosh, I remember watching this as a kid in the 60's too, now I feel ancient! Our TV looked like that too but (I think) it was color. (And I have to say that I sometimes miss those easy to use TV's). My parents had one in their bedroom too so when they had friends over all us kids got to go in there and watch with snack, it was a treat for sure, good times. Thx for the trip down memory lane!

Dave, I’ve watched Rudolph every year since it came out. I was 5. Never missed it in 56 years. It—unlike humans—never gets old. ?
