SCRIPPS New Graduate Nurse Program August 2011

Published

Hello, I wanted to start this thread for the Scripps Healthcare new graduate nurse position. The program was suppose to start August 12th 2011 from what I was told. Just wanted to start getting familiar with all of the people that applied and hopefully get some useful information going in this thread!:)

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

I went to Kaplan ADN Program in SD :) I guess we'll find out which dept when we get there?

I guess so. I was hoping they would tell us since typically people know what department they are going in to interview for. I was just wondering because I know scenario questions will be very different depending on which department the interview is with.

I got the email too just this morning and I am scheduled for 9:00am on Monday. Good Luck to everyone!!!! I think we need to focus on "personality type" questions too such as your short term and long term goals; strengths? weaknesses? resolution conflict, etc...

CONGRATS TO ALL OF YOU! When i was interviewed by them they didnt ask department specific questions, just general questions about your work ethics, etc. I think it's safe to say that if the rest of us havent been emailed then were out of the running. CONGRATS GUYS!!!

Oh and I walked into a room full of a whole bunch of people. to the right were all the tables where we sat and to the left were round tables where people were being interviewed at. i say it to you guys ahead of time so that you dont get intimated cause i was. i hated seeing how much competition i had! it was nerve wracking! SO DONT GET NERVOUS AND BE READY FOR IT!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Gosh I hope that is not the case :-( But if it is then Good luck to you all :-)

Specializes in ER.

I graduated from Kaplan ADN as well! I am licensed and was wen I applied... Thanks for all the advice!

Very happy to say I am also scheduled for an interview on Monday!! :) I think only 1 department is going to be interviewing, not all 3 because of the high volume of applicants and not enough positions open on all units. I do wish they told us which one it would be so we would know ahead of time. I went to a 4yr BSN university in Massachusetts. Very excited at the possibility of becoming a part of Scripps!!Thanks to everyone who posted some advice/comments..it's truly appreciated! Best of luck to all you RNs out there!

Which is the department you think they are interviewing for? I know I applied to med surg/oncology and IMU and haven't heard anything yet...giving up hope quickly. I also have my BSN but from CSUSM with two externships in oncology.

Good luck to everybody interviewing! I interviewed on the 6th but they said they would start making offer calls on the 24th... 3 weeks to find out is torture! Same as everybody else, I heard there were 40 spots available, but they did not say how many from each hospital or unit.

I had no clinical questions either, but a few "tell me about a time when" type questions. Most seemed to have to do with what type of person you are and your values/ethics.

I just spoke to the nurse recruiter at Scripps one the phone. I was told that if you have not received an invitation for an interview by now and your status still says "submission received", that means "You're not selected". They only open New Grad Program once a year. "sigh"

Good luck to those interviewing next week :)

Thanks for the info...disappointing as it may be. I'm not sure about the once a year though since I think the previous new grad program was just this past March. I know there were a lot of people on this thread saying they had applied to that one as well.

Well, good luck
