scott & white

U.S.A. Texas

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding Scott & White. Do they only hire new grads into their internship positions? I would LOVE to do an internship; however, the next critical care one is available in January. I just became a licensed RN in Texas in March and I will be moving down there until May. I honestly cannot wait until January to get a job :( I have been trying to apply to other positions on their website that all say minimum/no experience but I am not having any luck and I have no idea why! Any pointers? I am a new grad with no nursing experience; however, I worked as a nurse technician for over a year. I know they have nurse techs in Texas. I figured that would make me more marketable but I guess not!

That's right. You will be reimbursed for the NCLEX review.

I wonder how the HESI compares to the ATI? We had to take the HESI at my school.

And it took *2* months for the board to send me my ATT. The reason was because since I was out of state at the time, I had to send in traditional ink fingerprints and they were messed up the first time...and it takes about 4 weeks to process them, I guess. They wouldn't send my ATT until I sent in readable prints and submitted to a background check...it was terrible!

ATI sucks. Not sure about the HESI because I don't have to do anything with the HESI.

I heard HORROR stories about the ink fingerprints from other out-of-staters..so that's why I sent in TWO sets! Luckily, they were fine so all I'm waiting for is my school to send my affidavit form in since I finished ATI last night. Rather this am at 3am!

I sent in 2 sets as well and they were both bad!! So I had to send in a third one....third time's a charm, I guess!

Oh gosh!! Well, glad you got them thru the 3rd time! ;-)

Scott and white will reimburse you for the Hurst review :)

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know!

Does anyone know when they will start intervewing people for the graduate nurse positions?? I recently applied and my status said route but haven't heard anything else

For the speciality internships, all the June ones just started and they probably won't post again until the fall. For the med-surg internships, I'm guessing it's on a rolling basis.

princess- what position did you apply for?

Specializes in NICU.

Not the internship but the graduate nurse positions. They posted a few this week and last week

I applied for the continuing care and another one. I did see the new med surg internships they just posted yesterday.

As far as I can tell, the graduate nurse positions are the med-surg internships. All of the Staff Nurse positions are generally for those that have nursing experience.

I sent you a PM.
