Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding Scott & White. Do they only hire new grads into their internship positions? I would LOVE to do an internship; however, the next critical care one is available in January. I just became a licensed RN in Texas in March and I will be moving down there until May. I honestly cannot wait until January to get a job I have been trying to apply to other positions on their website that all say minimum/no experience but I am not having any luck and I have no idea why! Any pointers? I am a new grad with no nursing experience; however, I worked as a nurse technician for over a year. I know they have nurse techs in Texas. I figured that would make me more marketable but I guess not!

I'll be moving to temple by mid july, are there any places to avoid living in? i dont have any idea on how and where to rent appartments. lol

I am also moving to Temple in middle of July. I found a room for rent for 500$ include everything on craiglist.org. I think to rent room so I will have time to explore Temple and find permanent accommodation. Also I saw some hotels offer rate as low as 700$ a month, room with kitchen.

Phone: [phone]. When I called them today they said 750, include utility, so maybe couple weeks ago, they said 700, not mentioning utility. On this web site about 10 hotels who offer a prolong stay, but they do not show you their rates, so you have to call and ask for monthly rate. I know that apartments are also cheap in Temple, but in my case, I do not have furniture, plus I do not want to sign lease for six month, before I will know for sure I will keep this job for the next 18 month.

Does anyone know when they will start intervewing people for the graduate nurse positions?? I recently applied and my status said route but haven't heard anything else

I also have the same status like yours. I applied for Graduate Nurse position and just like yours have not heard anything.

I also applied to the med surg internship positions as well. I eventually got a call for one of those but I got a job at another hospital in the speciality I wanted. Apply to the med surg internships they still need people

Thank you for responding. I got an email from Scott and White yesterday saying they are not choosing me. My heart is broken because I want to go there I do not know what their criteria to choose a candidate I have a very high GPA, healthcare job and active volunteer experience.

Luckily another hospital called and I got what I wanted. You will find something just keep looking

What is the salary for a new grad at BSW?
