Another school shooting in NoCal.
Thinking of NoCalMimi and hoping she's okay.
No one was injured, but a teacher decided to bring in a gun and shoot in an empty room today

With a gun. Funny how this keeps happening.
One school in my area was closed on Monday due to a credible threat. A student in another district saw the threat on snap chat and showed his mom around 10pm, mom called the police, police notified the school, school was immediately cancelled for the next day, the student that made the threat and "all involved" were arrested at 2am!
My high school was made aware of a threat posted on snap chat by a student who was absent. The student was taken into custody and the school day continued on as usual.
I'm glad to see that these threats are being taken very seriously now! However, I wonder if the kids making these threats had any real intent to harm. Maybe it will prevent a shooting, but it also may just keep the kid who is an actual danger from posting to social media. There's no good answer here, but I do think that treating every single threat as a clear and present danger is necessary. Parents need to see that the school and the police are doing everything in their power to keep kids safe and students need to see that this type of non-sense will not be tolerated.

In a surrounding county a 12 year old and 10 year old were arrested. So young to have a record. But a little bit of accountability is what these kids need. And now that their child has a record maybe parents will talk to kids about not threatening to shoot people. I mean really. Right after FL I talked with my 4th grade brother and told him under no circumstances was he to EVER even joke about hurting someone. That it will be taken seriously and he will get in more than trouble. He said "I would never do that". Right, but you best believe Imma tell our crazy butt not to.

This. So much this.
Also, if it even prevents ONE shooting, I say go for it.
