School Shootings

Sad that we may need a category for this.

Another school shooting in NoCal.

Thinking of NoCalMimi and hoping she's okay.

I think this really is brilliant. After the morning I've had with indifferent and unaccountable staff, my skeptical side is trying to take over. But, you know what? I'm going to copy the link and email it to my entire campus. If one teacher took it up and one child was "saved" it would be worth it. I'll let you know what responses I get...if any.

Thank you OWTP!

Me too.

Same here. I posted it on facebook and I am friends with almost every teacher/aide that has a facebook in my school. Not a single like from any of them. I did forward it to my principal and asst. principal.

A few of the teachers who had moved up to the high school from elementary said that they did it then, and they will find a way to do it, now.

Here's an update on that. They're now saying that the shooting was accidental. The girl is being basically being charged with negligent discharge of a firearm on school grounds. She claims the pistol discharged itself when she dropped her backpack with the pistol in it. If this is true, then this isn't a voluntary/intentional act, quite unlike other events of late. What's the larger issue is not just how did she get her hands on a firearm, but why she felt compelled to have it with her at school. Something probably isn't going well for her at school or during her travel to/from school that makes her want to be armed.

Here is the thing about that school, they resumed classes when the scene was cleared. So these kids had this traumatic event, students and a staff memberwent to the hospital, a whole class room of kids was patted down with their hands behind their back, and then they went to math? SMH, what has the world come to.

I know parents were allowed to pick up early, but that wasn't until after 1 pm, and the event happened before 9.

I'm withholding my final opinion until more comes out but I can't imagine how a firearm would "accidently" discharge more than once. It appears there was more than one shot fired.
