Just wanted to share that I passed this long 4 hour 250 question exam on the first try! To me if was just as difficult or even harder than the NCLEX. It is required in NC that we obtain certification within 3 years of hire.

On the plus side, new letters behind my name and a substantial pay increase! I'm ecstatic! Yippee Yay!

Specializes in ICU, Adventures in school nursing.

Congratulations! Any study tips for those of us taking the exam in the future??? Study book recommendations?

Congrats! I wish we had this in NY. I mean, I can get certified, but it won't get me any more money or recognition. For now I'm "meh".

In NY are you already on the teacher pay scale? That's what it would get me here in IL because it moves me from "support staff" to "certified staff", which would be an 28% raise. So, it's in my 3-4 year plan.

We don't have that option.

We don't have that option.

Boo! My district does not have a certified position and (given the course of our negotiations) I will be exploring other options.
