Faxed me an order changing the insulin to carb ratio for one of my diabetic students. However, they failed to put a name, birthdate, or even MRN number on it. I asked them who it was for and if they could send me a copy with the patient identifiers on it. The person (nurse, I'm assuming) asked me if I had could call all the parents to see who had a recent ratio change and then call her back. Basically so she wouldn't have to look up these kids herself.

Ohhhh man. Part of me would want to call the parents who go there just so I could throw the center under the bus. My families would call their angerly very quickly

I told her no. That two of the three are Spanish speaking only (I don't speak Spanish and am NOT going to inconvenience even more people to help translate) and I was pretty sure which kid it was. So, she looked up that one kid, and I was right.

Seriously though. They faxed me a useless piece of paper and then wanted me to do the leg work for them? This is a big clinic, so I get that they are busy, but I've been getting more and more bothered by them the more years I interact with them.

Sometimes I wish I had these type of families. Most of my parents are pretty on top of stuff, but I'm in a Title I school, and the families tend not to have as much extra time to go around raising a ruckus (even if it's needed).
