Oh joy... I've already fixed a costume on a kid that came in dressed (which they're not supposed to do)

I'm nervous about candy with peanuts coming in even though we've been putting it in our weekly and monthly announcements to NOT bring in anything with nuts. I have 2 kids at my elementary school with severe enough allergies that it can't even be in the same room with them! :wideyed:

We had all our parties on friday, so there shouldn't be any costumes or candy today. But I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning, when kids are on sugar highs and having all sorts of stomach aches!

Our party day was Friday and this year, much to my delight, we switched to just popcorn(skinny pop) and water or 100% apple juice!!! I'm sure some candy will come in in lunch boxes for the next few days, but that should be it. I know I'm going to see lots of belly aches and get lots of "candy" as the answer to what did you eat this morning?! I can do anything for 3 days!

Just a feel good moment: Friday, I saw one of life-threatening allergy kiddos and told her that she would be able to eat any of the flavors of popcorn and drink any of the drinks in her class for the party. She was stunned. She said "You mean I don't have to call mommy and ask? And I don't even have to bring it you to check the label? REALLY?!" Then she hugged me and ran off. It made me realize that she's probably never had a party (other than her own) that was safe for her. I love my job:)

Surprisingly I didn't have too many issues yesterday. Thank god for uniforms and high school kids!
