Great video!

So far we've gotten 17 inches...with part 2 starting now 5PM Sat.

When did my 27 + 30yo sons decide to snowblow driveway?... 4:15P.

Winds kicken up and blowing neighbors roof snow into my yard + driveway.

Expect schools to be closed Monday for ongoing dig out.

I'm right in the middle of this mess they named Jonas....the worst thing about snow days are the summer vacation days they take from us to make up for it!

Non-school-nurse/minion/fangirl/entourage member here...do many of your schools have the option of the kids learning from home so they don't have to make up the day? That sounds like the perfect setup for you school nurses. Be safe!

Remember this weather is the perfect excuse for rich hot chocolate (real milk) with your choice of whipped cream or marshmallows. Add a shot of your favorite liqueur if so inclined. Grilled cheese (I think I've perfected them) and creamy tomato soup. Warm blanket, and a movie or good book. :p

That is Fantastic!

So far this year, we have been pretty lucky with snow days. Unfortunately, we had a lockdown due to a threat at our HS right before the last day of finals this past fall. It put the HS behind one week in terms of instruction because finals were delayed until after winter break. Ugh. I don't work at the school, but at a hospital. I got out of the habit of scheduling our family vacation the first week of summer, though, two years ago when our area had the highest snowfall ever for a winter season. The school was delayed until after Memorial day and I had to totally reschedule our vacation because kids can't miss finals. We used to go the week right after Memorial day, but now we usually go mid-June, because my son and husband have boy scout camp the first full week in June.

Woooohoooo! 2 hour delay tomorrow!

We got 30".

We are completely dug out, and it even started melting a bit!

I guess they are worried about the refreeze.

30" and you only got a 2 hour delay? We had a foot of snow a few years ago and closed for a week lol.

I live in the bullseye, the worse part of the bullseye. Woohoo. Don't know how bad because I've been camped out at the hospital for three days.

I'm sorry. :(

Barely any snow in Chicagoland so far this winter. I read a meme that said "This year winter is like your period- you're pretty thrilled it's not here yet, but still a little bit worried."

It's been so warm around the Wisconsin/Illinois border and so little snow... I'm worried it's going to switch and be 15 degrees with 2 feet of snow in May
