School Hours

Published

What are the hours at your school for students? The school where I work is 7:45-4 (I am at a charter school and the day is longer). My own kids are 8:15-2:30, and 7:45-3:15. One of my friends has a son who doesn't start until 9:15 which seems so late to me. Just curious!

Our K-4 and 5-6 schools are 8:30-3:30, staff are 8:15-3:45. The middle and high schools are an hour earlier.

I saw this story a couple months ago. Interesting.

My middle school is 8:05 to 3:01 and my elementary school is 9:15 until 3:40. I work 8 to 4 most days. Sometimes 7:30 to 3:30 if I need to get out a bit early.

I can show up anywhere from 8:45 to 9. And stay until 3:45.

I'm at a 9th grade campus. The students' hours are 7:10-2:35, and mine are 7-3.

We are 8:20 - 3:20. High school kids get out at 3:25 just to alleviate congestion in the halls as we are all one building. There is supervision on the playground from 7:30 - 8:10 so many kids get a morning recess. My hours are 7:45 - 3:45.

This is an interesting idea. Can any kids just show up on the playground during that time or do they have to be signed up? We have a problem with some kids being dropped off early and no one there to be responsible for them so they are hanigng out waiting. This might be a way to at least have them doing something.

We had the exact same problem with kids showing up way early and no one to watch them! So this was their solution. They started staffing supervisors for playground duty starting at 7:30 and it works out really well. Anyone can come, K-6.

Students start 7:20 and end at 1:45. I'm in a HS.

ETA my hours are 7:05 to 2:15.

Our principal told us earlier this week that they are looking at a later start time, but it won't be next year. I would be thrilled with this as I am not really a morning person and getting up at 5:30 am is not my most favorite thing in the world.
