Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day . I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.
Here's hoping and praying...
Hey afro81! Oh my gosh, you probably got my spot! Haha. I mean, I was accepted for the Spring 2010 Nursing program at SFSU, but I wrote a letter to the school of nursing, saying that if someone (who is starting in fall 2009) declines their admission to sfsu, can you please give me the spot and give my spot for spring 2010 to the next person on the waiting list. So I guess they did it. They gave me a spot for fall 2009 (i got an email from sfsu nursing saying last week) and gave you my original spring 2010 spot. :)SFSU has a great nursing program and it's so hard to get in. The fact that you got in sfsu is a BIG deal. I don't know anything about chico but I know SFSU has one of the best nursing programs and is one of the hardest to get in to (i've been hearing it might be 2nd hardest in california, next to sac state).
Kayellow,
Congrats for Fall 2009 entering! I should have thought of that, too. It would have been nice to start a semester early.
Good luck and have fun in da Fall
Woww reading all these entries makes me nervous thinking about the application process and the waiting period..
Right now I'm a freshman at a community college and I'm working on all the prereqs and planning on applying to almost 9 CSU campuses in the next year or so..
Well congrats to everyone who got accepted!
So, my application status changed today from "Under review by Nursing Department" to " Conditionally Accepted" and my major is still listed as Nursing. Does this mean I got in for Fall 2010? Anybody know? I am freaking out! I declared the intent to register and I was also able to register for orientation for transfer students and my major is listed as Nursing there as well.
I so want it to be true!
I've read the majority of the posts on this thread and after getting the results of my application this afternoon I felt that I owed it to you all to create an account and tell you of my experience.
My Statistics
3.64 Overall GPA
3.70 Prerequisite GPA
1/3 Supplemental criteria fulfilled
Last night I checked my admission status online (as I'm sure that many of you have) and when I saw the "Congratulations message" I was immediately optimistic that I was accepted into the bsn program- however after scrolling down further, to my dismay Kinesiology was listed as my primary major. When I found this site and read through the posts of this thread- I came to the conclusion that I was only admitted into SFSU for Kinesiology (not even my secondary choice) but not admitted into the nursing program. I was certain that I had failed.
As you can see, the aforementioned statistics are not consistent with that of many of the other posters on this thread. Call it luck, but I received my acceptance letter in the mail today and I will be part of the Fall 2010 BSN program at SFSU.
The main purpose of this post is to give hope to those of you sitting on the edge of your seat. I want to let you know that if you don't have a 4.0 GPA and haven't fulfilled 3/3 of the supplemental criteria you still have a chance! Just wait until you get that letter in the mail before you give up hope.
I do have some questions about preparation for the Fall 2010 semester if an experienced SFSU nursing student or alumni is willing to spare the time.
Best of luck to you all!

Congratulations on getting in. *Hopefully* we will be classmates, I just want a letter that tells me, even though all the signs online are pointing to it.
I have a pre-req GPA of 3.91, overall of 3.83, and 1/3 supplemental criteria.
I hope to see something in the mail today. BTW, what is the first letter of your last name? I am assuming they do this alphabetically.
