San Francisco State University (SFSU) BSN Program

Published

Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day :banghead:. I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.

Here's hoping and praying... :nurse:

4.0 pre-reqs and overall and 1/3 supplemental and I got waitlisted. =(

curious what was you supplemental 1/3? I only had volunteering.

CONGRATs though!

Hi Brighten, did you call sfsu yet about being on the waiting list?:)

No...Am I suppose to? SFSU is my 2nd option so I am still waiting to hear from the other schools that i applied to.

I am not sure about the segment III cluster, on my DARS report it said I could pick my cluster after orientation. I know there are a few history classes that are required for graduation that I am taking now. I would go online and check your DARS report and see if there is anything there you have missing besides Segment III.

Thanks Reebles,

I actually found that link yesterday while running a search through Google. I also found a 2009 - 2010 BSN Roadmap that helped to give me some perspective on what to expect in the upcoming semesters. Here's the link:

I guess I should have clarified this, but my question is more geared toward recommended strategies for taking these segment III courses. If possible, I intend on taking all 3 of them next semester since I will not be eligible to take nursing courses until Spring 2011- that way they will be out of the way and I can focus on the "meat" of the degree.

Thanks Reebles,

I thought I read though that you aren't able to declare a Segment III cluster until after you start your first semester, but I don't know if that means that you can't take classes that are in segment III and declare it later.

Thanks for the roadmap.

Hi Brighten,

You don't really need to call them. I'm just curious if you spoke with them regarding the waiting list. I just needed to know how they select people from the waiting list, since they did not give us a number. I will call them later. Thanks :)

Hi! I am still waiting to see if I was accepted to SFSU's Sequoia program for fall 2010 start. I am a Cali resident but I am military stationed overseas so I am super stressed about how long it will take to find out either way.

Was everyone who has been accepted already's status updated online before you even got the acceptance letter?...my status still says that the Sequoia department is still reviewing my application....:crying2:

I can tell you my acceptance was posted online before I got my letter, and one of my friends who got into the Sequoia program, her status was updated online as well.

Hopefully they will update your status soon. Good luck.

kynchanted- I'm still waiting for my letter and status for the sequoia program too, so I def know what ur going thru! COngrats to all that got in also! Sequoia is my 1st choice n i only applied to one other school I don't really want to go to, so i really hope i get in!

To everyone that is getting into the Sequoia program...congrats (hope I am joining you soon!)! Do they release the acceptances by last name (are your last names early in the alphabet...when I asked the nursing dept. they said that they would be mailing letters out THROUGH 16 April so I was just wondering what makes you the last person to get yours sent out on 16 April if anyone knows?)? Or were you priority applicants?...I don't know if I should be hopeful or scared that I didn't hear anything yet and my status is still under review on the website....

kynchanted- i dont think they release the acceptance by last name cuz my last name starts with an "r." i dont exactly know what the process is. but i noticed that my application has been reviewed since feb 27th cuz i got a reminder message to review my "incomplete status." i guess at that time i already fullfilled all the requirements exept the one to the school itself. i hope this answers your question.

if your status is under review, my best guess is you might get in as an alternative. but again, i dont know for sure. [color=#6000bf]

Hi Nancy...thanks for the info. Is that lady nice?...do you think that she would tell me my status via phone? I did email and was told I would have to wait for a letter in the mail. That was last week. Thanks for your help! :)

And my status has been under review since 17 Feb! :(
