San Francisco State University (SFSU) BSN Program

Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day :banghead:. I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.

Here's hoping and praying... :nurse:

I think I got my acceptance letter the last day of April, I ended up declining and going with CSUEB. That was a year ago. I know it is an agonizing wait.

Best of luck to you.

End of April, that sounds right. I went to the Nursing Office mid March they said, they process and mail out the BSN letters end of April, which is consistent to what you said.

I have my moments when I am anxious, but I figure it is pointless. Since I am going into Nursing, I have been working on staying calm and focused to task and this experience has been great practice for me.

I am not sure what expect, I read a story of someone having a high G.P.A and 2 of the supplements and still got denied. I am clueless, I remain hopeful, my shortfall is in the supplements;I have only 1 and in progress with the Volunteer/Hospital.

All the best to those of us waiting.

this unfortunately was the case with me. I got my rejection letter today.. while I know I'm a good candidate for nursing (3.8 in the prerequisites, 3.75 overall, 2/3 of the supplements.. not to discourage anyone, but i figured some people might like to know), I was really preparing myself for this, simply because I know it is so competitive. they wrote in the letter that many of the people admitted this year were applying for their 2nd or 3rd time. So, I'll keep my head high and try again.

I guess this way i wont have to give up my spanish minor just yet. or hey, maybe if I'm lucky I'll have time to finish spanish as a second major before I'm accepted! hah. just thinking positive here..

good luck with everyone still waiting for a letter! if accepted, celebrate! if not, don't fret. if there's a will, there's a way.

your story freaked me out yikes :-( I guess I have no chance, this is my FIRST application and therefore things must be thick in the acceptance pool. Not to mention my shortage of supplementals ugh! I just don't know... this is totally frustrating ain't it?

PS: I appreciate your positive thinking! I wish i could say it would be the same with me.... Please keep posting for those of you who applied to SFSU- BSN program. Thanks!

Same here, I just received my REJECTION letter today... pretty devastated, SFSU was my first choice, but I do realize how competitive it is. At the same time, however, I only have a 3.7 pre-req GPA and can understand three languages, but I guess it didn't help me out that much, huh? Haha. Well, here's to applying for the Spring, I guess. Good luck to all those still waiting for their letters!

"here's to applying for the Spring, I guess"

Does SFSU accept applications for the Spring?

Now you got scared even more... yikes :-( A second person that can only mean they sent out the letter on Friday or late last week... Well, I am now going to be freaked out by mail

I feel for you... Did you apply to other schools? I hope you find other options that can accommodate you.

I don't know if they accept apps for the Spring semester, but I'm definitely applying to other school's programs for the Spring. I also applied to USF (but got rejected....haha) and CSUEB, which I'm still waiting to hear from. Also, my letter is postmarked April 16th and I just received it today, so hopefully you'll be getting yours soon. Let's hope it was better than mine! Haha. Good luck again!

Julz Thanks for being so kind to reply. I admire your spirit. I know I want to go into the BSN program more than anything. I just want to do the Degree thing more than ADN... When I get through schooling for Nursing that will be my last time going back to school for degree or anything else. I would love to go through and get NP... but thats a story for another day.

April 16th? wow, what's up with the mail? I live in SF so mail should have been here for me 1 day 2 days max... maybe the haven't reached processing mine?

I also applied to USF, haven't heard ANYTHING... when did you hear from them?

CSU-EB I never tried them, i don't have Chem30B... I got tired of all those prereqs...

Thanks again for your responses. I Wish you the best! Check back, I will come back to let you know what I hear back... oh boy... It's a weird feeling not knowing...

Yeah, I don't know what's up with this wacky mail either. I live a little less than an hour from SF and it took 5 days to reach me x] For USF, however, I had to e-mail them to ask about the Nursing Program results. I don't know of anyone who actually received an acceptance or rejection letter at all, but from all my experiences, whenever I have emailed the nursing department, they have always been pretty quick to reply. As for CSU East Bay, I'm still waiting, but yeah, I have to take this darn Organic Chem class as a pre-req... -_- It's a lot of work, but I'm sure it will be well worth it once we get into the program. Just keep your head up, everybody! :]

my friend spoke with the nursing office. apparently this year the competition was SO fierce that their range of accepted GPAs was 3.98 to 4.0!!! they turned away 3.95's *and* 4.0s!!

craaaazy.

Arubi,

I am petrified! All hope... out the window ...
