  1. I saved the job description; there was a note that reads "Due to the number of applicants, the Nurse Recruiter and Nurse Managers are unable to meet and greet interested applicants in person. Please respect their time." Just an FYI. Guess we will all just have to sit back, relax and wait for them to contact us! Good luck everyone, I'm really hoping I can stop filling out applications soon...
  2. (wow i haven't been here in FOREVER!) i applied @ sfsu & cal state east bay in the fall of 2008 and got rejected from both (lol) my overall GPA was a 3.71. i'm too lazy to calculate my pre-req GPA but i had B's in both anatomy and physiology, A's in both chemistry and statistics (was still IP for micro). i got an 81.8% on the TEAS and the only supplmental criteria i had was language (slight speaking ability & comprehension, but not fluent) - spanish, tagalog and one other filipino dialect. honestly, as a student having to go through the intensive application process (haha), state colleges are pretty ridiculous nowadays. in an applicant pool of 1,000+, they usually take only 100 or fewer. i've known people who are way smarter than me who still did not get in so it's really up in the air what they are looking for exactly. even if you don't get in, don't be discouraged. there is always a chance that they can call you back if someone declines the spot; i was thinking about switching majors until i got a call back from a school in june offering me a spot for the spring program (i originally applied for the fall)! right now i go to USF and i love it. so just remember, if there's a will, there's a way. best of luck to all of you!
  3. ....sorry I've been MIA lately...hehe SF123 - I'm really excited/nervous for orientation! I can't wait to get all my classes (finally!). Good luck to everyone and hope to see you guys on Thursday! :)
  4. Cee_Lee_78: I believe my GPA was a 3.7 at the time I applied for the BSN program for Fall 2008. I originally got rejected (ouch) the first time around but then they offered me a spot for the Spring 2009 program in June (which I'll be enrolling in soon). I guess I got lucky! & btw, I have heard the same about USF nursing school's great rep. I believe the pass rates are 90%+!
  5. reez1837 - if they gave you a USF connect account already, you might wanna check there. it shows your student profile, when you applied and when you were admitted..etc. from other peoples' experiences it seems as if they either get a letter or a phone call or an email. i guess they're not very consistent. lol. either way, you may just want to call the school yourself to clear things up. btw, i applied for the fall but got offered a spot for the spring in early june. i just received an "online welcome packet" from the transfer admissions director yesterday. & did you apply for the BSN or MSN program...? hope i helped in some way & good luck with everything! :)
  6. Duke 112: I'm moving from Vallejo to SF (hopefully). Crossing two bridges everyday would not be fun so I'm definitely trying to find a place, if not, dorm. On another note, I know the BSN and MSN programs are two totally different programs, but to anyone out there who has been in the BSN program or knows someone in it, do you know if our clinicals are in close proximity to the school? I read that we are responsible for transportation to and from those sites and I don't know if I will have a car...
  7. Another question....how do we get our classes? Did you guys register already or do they give it to us or something? I'm so confused
  8. We start school in two months! I still haven't figured out where I'm gonna live or how I'm going to pay for this....but isn't it exciting?
  9. Congratulations on your acceptance! I don't really know how SFSU's nursing program is but I'm sure if you do enough research on the forums you could find out from other people. & to be accepted to both USF and SFSU! You're a smart one! I got rejected from both when I applied for the Fall 2008 and am just VERY lucky to get in for the Spring. Orientation is January 16, and I think school starts on the 23rd. I haven't received any other information/packets though (just one on residence and housing when I got accepted back in June), have you? Please update me if you get anything else! :)
  10. No...sorry, I applied for the BSN program. I actually visited campus today. Hehe. Anyways, from what I heard, USF has a great (but tough) nursing program and I know the tuition is ridiculous, but I'm sure all of it will pay off. Best of luck to both of you! :)
  11. Hellooooo, Anyone out there accepted to the Nursing program @ the University of San Francisco (USF) for the Spring? I originally applied for the Fall and got rejected but then received a letter in June offering a spot for Spring clinicals. I already sent the tuition deposit/intent to enroll in the summer, too. Has anyone received any more information yet (I heard we're supposed to be getting some sort of "Welcome Packet"?") ? I e-mailed one of the transfer admissions directors and she said we would be receiving mail soon. Orientation is supposed to be in mid-January and it's already November so I'm already sort of freaking out because I still have to apply for loans and housing and whatnot. Thanks in advance! - JULZ
  12. Just an update: The IT ppl called again and they said there were some snags in getting the USFconnect accounts up for students admitted for 2009. They're trying to get them up by the end of this week or by next week. Hope this helps for anyone who had a problem signing in!
  13. I already mailed in my Intent to Enroll form last week, but I guess it hasn't been processed yet. I also called the IT people over there regarding my USFconnect account, but it looks like they haven't entered all the newly admitted students into the database or something, so I think I might just make a trip out there to pay it in person as well as turn in my final transcripts because I'm pretty iffy about sending $250 in the mail.
  14. Besides the fact that it's good...? Haha Sorry this don't really answer your question, but have you tried logging into the USFconnect thing? I've tried at least 20 times now and it won't let me log in to pay that tuition deposit! & I have no idea how to check the version of my browser...too technical....lol...
  15. Solid two years, but I pretty much finished my GE's at the same time. My schedule went a little like this: Fall 2006 - Intro Chem / Psych / English / History / Stats Spring 2007 - Socio / English 2 / Brit Literature / Intro Biology / Asian Hist. Summer - Public Speaking / Human Development Fall 2007 - Human Anatomy / Human Physiology / Nutrition Spring 2008 - Organic Chemistry / Microbiology / Humanities / Poli Sci I worked part-time my first year of college but decided to quit once the second year kicked in for the sake of taking all those science classes together. But I guess you could say that I am living proof that you can take your pre-requisites in such a short amount of time and still get decent grades! I think as long as you keep yourself organized and your brain active, you will be fine! :loveya:
