San Francisco State University (SFSU) BSN Program

Published

Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day :banghead:. I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.

Here's hoping and praying... :nurse:

Congrats, ro'smom and congrats again, ug33! i'll see you guys soon! :D

Congrats you guys!! Good luck with your studies!!

so you called admissions and they told you you have been placed in spring 2010 semester? i'm still waiting for my status page to update. im going to assume i got rejected at this point :(

Thanks, CAangelindisguise!

bxdo,

don't lose hope yet. i called admissions and they said that I did not get in because my major changed from "nursing" to "biology" (my 2nd choice major). i lost hope, too. but then, today, a letter from the school of nursing said that i got in, but for the spring 2010 semester. so that means that if your major changed on mysfsu, that only means that you might have been admitted to the spring semester. until you get letter, nothing is final. :) the status page won't tell you much. you have to wait for the letter. it should come this week. :)

This is going to be a very long week haha. Where are you located by the way?

I just received my acceptance letter earlier today as well... I really thought I wasn't going to get in considering posts made about majors being changed, etc. But it turns out I was accepted (conditionally since I still have to finish one more prereq this semester). Anyways I will be attending Spring 10' as well. Congrats to everyone else that made it, and hopefully we'll see each other then! For anyone interested in knowing, I had an overall 4.0 GPA and only 1/3 supplemental criterias (2nd language proficiency). Hope this helps those trying to get in.

hmm i sort of dont understand why they put some people on the spring semester. wouldnt it put those who actually apply during the spring at a disadvantage since the spots are being held for those who applied to the earlier semester? cause that would technically mean that alot of us who applied for fall 09 did not get accepted because of the filled seat from those who applied previous semesters. thats assuming there are 2 application periods, i just realized theres actually only 1 application period for sfsu right? other wise that would make sense

Congrats to all that got in! I'm so happy for you guys! I know how relieved I will be once the final word is delivered, good or bad... so I'm sure you guys are pass freakin' out & are on cloud nine. Has anyone who applied to the satellite program @ Canada heard any word yet? I haven't... not even a status change...

wow!!! congratulations to all those who got in!!! i still haven't received my letter, but then again my hopes are alive because, like kayellow, my major changed from nursing to kinesiology (my second choice). it's going to be a long 2 days of mail waiting (for this week that is).

again, congrats to you guys! :yeah:

wow!!! i wish i could be like you guys next year...

keep up the good work!

this unfortunately was the case with me. I got my rejection letter today.. while I know I'm a good candidate for nursing (3.8 in the prerequisites, 3.75 overall, 2/3 of the supplements.. not to discourage anyone, but i figured some people might like to know), I was really preparing myself for this, simply because I know it is so competitive. they wrote in the letter that many of the people admitted this year were applying for their 2nd or 3rd time. So, I'll keep my head high and try again.

I guess this way i wont have to give up my spanish minor just yet. or hey, maybe if I'm lucky I'll have time to finish spanish as a second major before I'm accepted! hah. just thinking positive here..

good luck with everyone still waiting for a letter! if accepted, celebrate! if not, don't fret. if there's a will, there's a way.

This is what I posted on this thread one year ago...figured I would give a follow up since I applied again and just got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday(!!!)

- a complete shock to me, because after the first rejection I pretty much assumed I would get rejected again. Nevertheless, I had to give it one more shot (really, I was prepared to apply one last time this upcoming fall, and then be an EMT while figuring out a plan B..). Just for those who are curious, I had gotten a B+ in physiology; my overall GPA actually went down a little over the past year, but I retook physiology last semester and got an A- (lol.. what a load of work for a few % higher...). Anyway, whether or not that had a big effect on my acceptance, I have no idea. I am thinking that they really must give priority to 2nd and 3rd time applicants, so if you've only applied once and get rejected, DONT GIVE UP. chances are if you stick with it and keep your grades up, your chance of getting in will increase ten or twentyfold with a second application. just my 2 cents to anyone who may be bummed out about first time rejection.

(oh, and turns out I will be able to finish the Spanish major as well. I was totally just trying to keep my head up when I wrote that a year ago. proof that you never know what will happen, so dont ever count yourself out)

congratulations to everyone who got accepted! to those who didnt, as I said a year ago, dont fret. if there's a will there's a way.

I just got accepted to begin my general univ. studies in fall 2009 and the nursing program in Spring 2010. Anyone here start Nursing program in the fall?
