Nah, I waited pretty much an hour for nothing. They ended just telling us who got in the program to just do it on the 15 and only helped out the pre-nursing students. For a day of driving 2 hours back and forth and another 2 hours getting my ID, I come home with my car full of dead bugs on my bumper and windshield. Awesome. You can register for classes still, though you don't have a great choice since there's only really upper division GE's/co reqs and whatever lower divisions you have left over on top of the licensure track. And yeah, the campus is nice. I got there super early and took a walk around campus til it started... thinking I'd hit traffic and get lost. Well I did get lost lol. Why would you prefer commuting from modesto anyways?

Danielle did you go to the orientation today? It was a huge waste of time- 2 hour drive back and forth to just get your ID and little info sessions on things you would already know. I somehow got lost on the way and ended up taking the country roads or so to Turlock, I was quite horrified to see nothing but farms and cows until I hit the city streets. The area seems... quite boring, but i didn't come to play haha. Guess im too used to the city Commuting to Modesto defintely isn't bad too, about 10-15mins on decent traffic. But with the campus size, I'm thinking something really close would be the best and just walk since the area also seems pretty safe. on the side- are we required to have a pda for the program?

Thanks for the heads up on housing. I was wondering whether housing would have been more expensive closer to the university compared to areas a little further out with commuting expenses. I haven't really checked housing beyond CL yet but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of open housing in the area yet, hopefully it'll turn around as summer shifts over. I'll probably start browsing the area around school on the upcoming new student orientation next Tuesday and nursing orientation.. maybe haha. It's good to know what to expect at the very least i suppose

Yee, had the email waiting for me since i just got back from class. #59 here with 74 points haha. As for orientation, I planned on going to the info thingy tomorrow morning but laziness kicked in, not down to drive a few hours back and forth haha. But yeah just tell me when you plan on going to the new student orientation, sounds like it's gonna be a dreadful day housing wise ive been browsing craigslist too and its alot more affordable compared than the bay area, and the commute isnt so bad since im pretty much used to traveling that much for school. btw sorry kinda late, my names bryan

yeah im going to the info session just so i can get a feel of waht to expect over the next few years do you know if the orientation on the 15th is totally separate from the new student orientation or if its the same thing? i don't want to go back and forth haha as for housing i've never been in the area or anywhere even close, so i dont know what i'm looking for yet. maybe find a singlet in a house or something, but we'll see as summer draws closer. thats when housing panick kicks in haha. how far is modesto from the campus? keep me updated on housing around the area please :) it'll help when i actually start looking for somerthing too. thanks!

hmm after reviewing the 6 semesters and it's courses, it doesnt seem to look too bad at about 14units max per semester. does anyone know if human development over the life span, nutrition and pharmacology classes from CCs transfer over? i'm not too sure about the later two but I think human dev should transfer over easily; all the courses i took were 4quarter units each but the pharm/nutr courses at stan. is sort of a hybrid. im starting to choose stan over sac even if it's 2 years, 15+ units per semester sounds like it'll drive me crazy lol. are you going to the orientation on the 21st yelle?

Nope never been to the campus or area. I actually never heard of csu stan before i looked into nursing schools. At the very least you get to save money on housing by living with your folks haha. I've read up that csu stan is pretty nice too but i'll see myself when i check it out in sometime in the next few weeks. It was probably one of my last priority schools when i first applied but now, I'm just glad I got in

yup im still waiting on a few too. assist isnt really working so I don't know which classes apply but my gpa is like a 3.7ish probably, not too sure since i go to 2 different CCs. I got A's in my sciences except a B in chem30a and like a 84.9 on my teas that i winged so we're not too off lol. ill probably make plans to check the school and area out sometime the weekend after sungod since it's only a couple hours from where im from

yelle i got my acceptance letter today too! just realized my older posts was actually a rejection from chico, somehow i got it mixed up lol. since this is probably the only program ill get into out of the bunch, i guess its time to start thinking ahead and what not. and since the program is still pretty new, theres really not much information out there along with current/pass student experiences. in any case, seeking house mates :)

I have 2 weeks from 4/20 to submit my intent to register, but I'm still waiting. I called the nursing coordinator and that didnt' really help. so what happens if i declare my intent to register but end up choosing another university?
