Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day . I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.
Here's hoping and praying...
kayellow,
i didn't apply to other schools because my main goal was to get a bachelor's degree. i have been a respiratory therapist for 10 years now and would want a different career path this time. ultimately, i want to become a nurse practitioner after i get some experience as a nurse.
i'm glad that you have other alternatives. i have a lot of nurse friends who sympathize to those of us who want to get in. again, the best of luck to all of us. can't wait for the letter to arrive this week!
rawallace,
Oh wow! Respiratory Therapy is a great career, too. :) You're way ahead of me, I'm just a sophomore in college! Haha.
Having an associate degree isn't so bad, too. After getting an AS in nursing, you can get a bachelor's in a year through sf state or even quicker in those accredited online colleges (you have to check the rn.ca.gov website if they are accredited, though). :)
I really hope you get in SF state! It's a really good program, and you get a bachelor's in only 2 years. :) Good luck!
Hi everyone,
I confirmed it. I didn't get in the Nursing program at Sf state. I called the admissions office and they said that if your major changes in your mysfsu account (like, from "nursing" to your secondary major), that means you didn't get admitted. That's exactly what happened to me
I guess I'm going to CSM's nursing program. Anyone going to CSM? :)
Good luck to all those waiting! :)
oh i'm sorry kayellow, but i know you did your best because sfsu was your #1 choice. i know because it's my #1 choice too and i'm working hard to get in by next semester during application time. i'm waiting for next semester to come for me and see where that'll take me.
good luck with your future endeavors at CSM. i know you'll pull though.
Thanks, solidus_snake!
Good luck to you, too! Do your best to get all A's. If you need any help in the application procedure when the time comes, just post a reply to this thread or maybe email me at [email protected]. I'll be happy to help! Make sure you attend the information sessions as well. Good luck!
Hmm I wonder what that is. Ok, just say it when you feel that it's the right time to say it, though I don't have an idea what you're talking about haha. :)
Don't worry, SF state's average gpa for the nursing program is a 3.7 or 3.8 and above. It just depends on the year's applicant pool. Last year, I heard my counselor saying that her student got in with a 3.7 gpa. But this year, even I didn't get accepted and I had a 3.9. It all depends on the people who apply. I hope you;ll get lucky for next year and be one of the top applicants. Good luck!
Oh ok. Wow, we've all been told different things, then. I called the admissions office, and the person I talked to directed me to my admissions counselor (the one who handles my application). My counselor told me that if the major changes, that means you're not admitted. So if your major didn't change, that means you got in :)
kayellow, SFSU's nursing program is only 2 years transferring in? I always had the impression that it was 3...
Sorry that you didn't get in, but at the very least you have back up schools waiting for you. I'm still waiting for every other school. SDSU also sent my financial aid package back earlier today stating that it was incomplete (I have no clue why). +1 more thing to get annoyed at, I hate going through the trouble of mailing stuff back and forth.
